Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Just curious for the benefit of the many other students etc who have asked if they can get this offer:

Did you have to have an SSN or a TIN or no tax number?

Of course I am not really interested in your personal situation. What I mean is, what was Sprint prepared to accept?

Thanks
Did you see this post about no credit check on sprint.com if you call? But would it work for free byod sign up.

Wow that's something!

https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...check.html
"AVAILABLE IN STORE OR BY PHONE ONLY"
Well, as you say, that may be for that specific offer.

I also found
https://community.sprint.com/t5/A...d-p/977349
(although I do not see that it is accurate) so I guess there have been variations.

I do not know if they would do it for the free plan though. They might not do it for "new customer only" offers like this, because it would be hard to check if you were a new customer without a credit check.

See also https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...plan_with/

Actually, as you probably saw, one poster here recently did mange to do something like that for the free plan by first setting up the account at a store with no SSN, then giving the account to the phone reps as a fait accompli. And they took that pre-approved account. But he said the phone reps would not do it themselves from scratch for this plan.

Actually, come to think of it, that may be similar to what this poster here did - set up the account ahead of time, in this case directly with the credit department, or via the store in the earlier case, ahead of time. That may be the only way to do it for this plan.

Your first post in this thread and it's not very clear. Sounds like maybe you're on the wrong plan. Check wiki FAQ #6 to find out if you are on the correct plan.

How did you go about signing up for this promo?
Thanks for replying. So I called them and one of the rep explained to me. There are two options. One is to get a 1 year free and after one year the plan is $60/min. The other plan is you will be charge $25/mon until you cancel it. When I called them I specifically ask for 1 year free of service and the rep said ok. I have no idea why they gave me this $25/mon plan. I called them again and again to have this fix but it seems none of them know what the problem is. The last rep said he wrote up a request to fix the problem and I just need to patiently wait 3-5 days . It's time for me to call them again.

Did you originally call the number ending in 8777 as listed in the wiki? It's been 9 days since you posted. Sprint does have a 14 money back guarantee and if you feel it isn't resolved in that time frame then an immediate way to cancel is to port that number out and the easiest way is to get an H2O sim and port to them to let the number die.

Maybe you can supply more details and others here can advise on the way to proceed.

Edit: And as dmart9 above has said, this may be your best way of resolving the issue.

I agree with the other replies (either/both) and would just add that I would not keep calling TeleSales if that is what you have been doing. For signing up or adding a line, they are the ones to call. For fixing things afterward, they are not. They have no incentive to approve cancelling a sale. Only disincentives and stalls from their Sales managers.

Also do not take any advice from them or listen to anything they say. People here give better advice. Many of us are going into our third year on this FREE plan (the Wiki explains how to do so and avoid paying the $60 you mentioned).

I do have an SSN and just very recently applied for and got a secured credit card, but it's been way too little time for that to build any credit.
The first operator on the phone asked me if I knew any of the people or addresses they mentioned. I knew nothing except at some point they mentioned a recent address where I was living, which I recognized.
But then the same operator told me my application was not approved.
So I followed the instructions on the wiki and I got manual approval (for 5 lines even)

Thanks for the information!

The identity quiz questions are from a service provider using public domain information sources and your credit reports. They can have errors. You may want to order your credit reports and LexisNexis data dumps and correct any erroneous data.

But that's great that you got on the plan!

Current and recent Sprint customers are not eligible. This offer is for "new customers only", but the Wiki, mentioned by Desi, has two different workarounds for that. After you read it all to learn what they are, let us know of any questions.

It is the the third post in this thread.

Is there a specific time I need to call 844 665 6327?

Or are they always available? I finally have my phones, compatible sims, and all info ready to go, but wanted to make sure I'm going to be able to reach the team that offers the free plan. From my reading and understanding, there are times that you can get routed to other teams, etc.

Are they only available 8am-8pm or anything like that? Or could I still get it done tonight?

I am glad you asked because that is not the number to sign up

The correct number is 866-782-8777.

You can call now until late.

A lot of people get confused with all the numbers, and may not remember accurately what number they dialed, so we politely say they were misrouted so as not to put the blame on them. It is unknown whether it ever really happens. We cannot really cross-examine them, but more likely they just dialed another Sprint number. If it ever happens, it is negligibly rare and you do not need to worry about it.
