Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Oh I see what you mean - emphasis on the online signup order process in that case.

But they do not track what sim they send you so you can just keep on using the old one.

The Sprint system always behaves the same regardless if a nonsensical order process of which it is totally unaware.
Yup, I was just trying to clarify it.

Fair enough!

The online order process would never affect the ability to use any valid sim right away though (including the old one). Other posters have confirmed that.

Im trying to activate my sim card.

from the packaging itself, it says i have to activate it at this link: sprint.com/bringyourdevice

So i filled out the information, then on the 2nd step it asked me to choose a plan, i cant find the free one, it only allows me to choose the basic plan or the higher plan.

can someone help me to activate this?
That is wrong link to complete activation for online signup. The correct link is in the wiki, also shown in the FAQ's on sprint free offer page.

"Get started! Complete our easy online process.
You'll need a SIM Kit. We'll ship you one (SIM card is $2.99 ea. and $10 shipping & handling + tax)
Once you receive it, go to sprint.com/activatenow to complete your activation"

Did you try this?
https://sprint.com/activatenow
Not sure what happens if you tried invalid link first then retry with activatenow link.

No, Tello is still Sprint. You can't port your number from Sprint to Sprint.

That is indeed right. The person would need to port it first to an intermediate non-Sprint carrier such as TMobile Prepaid.

However, just to let you know, you are replying to a post from the better part of two years ago.

Let me ask - is it a basically new RingPlus?
You can use eligible phone to open account and then you can swap it to any sprint compatible phone you like? and then add 4 more lines with any sprint compatible phone?
And then use eligible phone to open new sprint account and then add 4 more lines, etc?
And then use eligible phone to open new sprint account and then ....

35604 posts? No it is not like ringplus at all. This is true Sprint postpaid service. More info in the wiki.

I reused my old sim card online, because 10 people on the phone and chat refused to do it. May be it was my unlucky day.

I'm joking. But still cant understand why Sprint creates loophole by allowing you to swap your eligible phone and replace it by some crapphone instantly. What is the point to have a list with "eligible phone" if in fact you need this phone just to open account?

That is a good question to get clarified because a lot of people are in doubt over it, but the truth is that special powers for swaps is largely a myth to begin with.

You can activate any phone, that you would be able to swap on, by simply calling in and signing up with it in the first place (sometimes it may take a couple of tries).

Swapping goes to a Sprint staffer for approval just the same as activation does. Every single time. You can never just move a sim all on your own without contacting Sprint one way or another (including starting from the DashBoard)..

Really, incompatible craphones cannot be activated and work on Sprint either way, at all, period, ever. There has to be a Sprint configuration software agent already built into the phone or it will not complete provisioning and be able to do PRL lookups etc. This software is present only on Sprint-approved phones.

Also, generic CDMA phones do not have Sprint CDMA voice band BC10 and so calling would not work well on them.

So non-Sprint-capable phones cannot ever work.

Now, the checker for this offer has been gimped a little so some older Sprint-branded phones will be rejected by the checker, but you can just call to activate them, or swap them on, either way. Occasionally a Sprint rep might say NO, where swapping on might work, or vice versa, mainly in the case of certain prepaid models where one or other of these two ways might get you a generous rep who would do an override. So there can be a very few cases where people succeed via swap after rejection via phone activation. But mostly you could could get the same result by just calling a few times.

But people just LOVE the idea that there is a gigantic loophole (like there is on Verizon where you can just swap sims with no vetting), so they imagine it into existence.

The published "eligibility lists" do not include Sprint phones, usually (they are trying to target non-Sprint customers), but you actually can activate any Sprint phone as well. You may have to call in, or, yes, you can swap them on. I have activated flip phones both ways.

In any case, I am delighted to see so many old RingPlus hands here! RingPlus was a place where we really got into the technical innards of the Sprint network.

Just to provide my experience?

Called the number in the wiki and everything went swimmingly. They pulled Experian for me only - call took about an hour from start to finish but I was ported in from Metro and activated within 10-15 minutes of the end of the call.

Warning: i got into this plan and noticed, Sprint cannot do voice and data simultaneously. Phone will lose internet connection while on call. It is really annoying while driving as maps won't work if you are on phone call. You cannot check email while talking to someone. It's not worth it if you need to use data while talking over the phone.

One of the many reasons why it's free.
