Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

The data service is terrible in Miami (Coral Gables, Downtown, Kendall, Miami Beach, and North Miami Beach).
Data service becomes somewhat usable after 2AM. And even then, the GPS goes in and out. (I drive Uber/Lyft)

But free is free so I'm sticking with it and hoping the T-Mobile merger and the 5G rollout improves things.

I have service with Redpocket (Verizon MVNO) at the moment, when I try the 'Check your eligibility', I'm getting 'Ineligible, the phone or port in number does not qualify for this offer'.

It's the phone number as if I try the IMEI with another number it's coming up Eligible. Anything I can do to get around this?
Yes. If it just the number, just port the number elsewhere as an intermediate step.

Details are in the Wiki (third post in this thread)

do the simple one, T-mobile .
it cost $6.xx per line. but can be done easy as 123. Hope you read it wiki.
let me write it here again.

Before you start -
Know Sprint Acct # and PIN#
The device IMEI
TMobile: SIM CARD #

Then
1. go to ebay and find tmobile sim card (un used of course). E delivery only. (less than $3)
2.Once you receive, go to Tmobile pre paid sim card activation page
3. activate it with porting in from your sprint.
4. You will have to prefill min. $3. required.
5. Once it is done, write down T-mobile Acct # and PIN #.
6. You dont need to take your sprint SIM CARD from the current phone. Just leave it there.

if you are done it correctly, it should be in 10 mins.
but to confirm, log into Sprint to check your number does not show.
if you don't see it, then the port out is done.

or Go to Sprint BYOD 1 year free site and enter your device IMEI and phone again.

Everything is ready?

Before you start -
Know TMobile Acct # and PIN#
The device IMEI
Sprint: SIM CARD # (the one you were using).

Call Sprint BYOD # (check wiki) then open with your wife/friend/father or mother or anyone who didn't have a Sprint acct.
answer the questions..

you are all set !
I remember when I did this over the phone with Tmobile I didn't have to add any funds to the prepaid account by saying that I will add the money later. I guess it's not possible if you do it online...

yes. u may have missed it. in pink above.
also, from wiki below:

Note 2: For new customers only. If u are a current customer (with any other Sprint plan) , you will be considered a new customer again ONLY AFTER closing your current account for 45 days (note: there are reports of some people getting back in before the 45 days. [it is not guaranteed. but u can try, simply call the above 866 number at say day 30. explain ur current carrier is not good signal and u want to come back, it may work or it may not but doesn't hurt to try]

Device swaps are officially allowed at any time and this is noted in one of the Q&A on the Sprint web site for this promo.

But you called the wrong department to do swaps. I suggested to start from your DashBoard or Chat. TeleSales has nothing to do with it and always says, erroneously, what they told you if you ask them.

We all do swaps all the time. 120 days is not needed. It is all over the Wiki and the thread.
Do not call TeleSales though. They only handle Sales.
.
Thanks
I understand what you said and I didn't start at telesales. I called customer service to port in one more number and they connected me to telesales. During the conversation adding the new number I asked to switch devices and she very adamantly told me it's not allowed.

I'll try from chat.
Thanks

Ah, sure thing!

Customer service cannot port in numbers to this plan either as you found out I am sure. TeleSales is in charge of that.

I am sure you will have no problem doing phone swaps via Chat.

I lost mine as well, when I re-upped it. I did a prl update (dial ##873283# and tap the Call button). Then went to phone settings and selected the LTE 'voice and data' option again, and it started working.
Repped! Tried for an hour and actually did what you said already. Only difference this time was I put everything off and then did the PRL update and turned LTE on. Before, I just had all the buttons on and did the update. Everything is back to normal now.

And did not configure and license to them the Sprint software agent that needs to be present in the phone to provision the phone normally for use on Sprint and access Sprint services such as PRL update, profile access etc.

Most such almost-compatible phones also lack Sprint's voice bands including BC10, needed to make phone calls reliably. (The manufacturers cannot be bothered adding the band unless and until they have actual approval for use on Sprint).

Theoretical LTE compatibility alone is not going to go far enough on Sprint for practical purposes.

But just for experimentation? Sure that might be possible if you can get it on by hook or my crook. Sprint is not going to add it unless you can trick them somehow.

As to blame? Sure Sprint should carry some of that. I am not sure there is any real disagreement .... it is sad nothing came of the potential....

last year I did it over the phone and didn't pay like you said.

However I read the wiki again for any update and read someone said it is now required even you called.

so I didn't bother to call TM to save $3.

Paying $3 for saving 20 mins call, and 1 free BYOD is worth it to me.Peace

Congratulations!

Any guesses as to whether this would still work?

It should still work, the site is still showing the $25 for the free plan. However, the $100 is now $80. A think the trick was that I went through the link from the CB site then purchased the $2.99 Sim. The CB showed my purchase amount as Sprint $2.99 and pending CB of $100! Then when I got the Sim I called BYOD tel # to activate my new S9. I see no reason why it should not still work if you do it the way I described above but you most likely will only see $80 now. I am sure purchasing the sim somehow makes Sprint count it as a regular new phone activation for some reason. This made it such a fantastic deal!Applause

You have been posting contrary information about phone compatibility for about three years that I know of. It just adds confusion.
