Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Call them at the -8777 number posted in the wiki, never try it at a store. The stores can mess up your free plan, no use in trying.
As @Comintel has recently mentioned. Don't ask them to add a line, tell them, be assertive as you are allowed up to 5 lines as originally was promised.
Quote from comintel :
You have never been able to add lines to the free plan by Chat, in store, or by calling 1-866-275-1411. None of those has ever worked. Store DEFINITELY will not work. Pay no attention to any of the nonsense those people make up to get you off the line or to sell you Kickstart.

You need to call 866-782-8777 and tell them you are pre-approved to add more free plan lines right up to your free plan end date and it is noted in the terms of your account and plan. Argue if they refuse!
Thank you all. I missed to call 8777 in first place which was big mistake in my end. I called 866-782-8777 and it went through without any issues. New line added in my free BYOD plan. Rep asked me to get new SIM SIMOLW516TQ for XS from Walgreens or Bestbuy or Walmart. Not available near my place and ordered new SIM which costs 2.99 and I will get it on Tuesday. Rep scheduled call on Tuesday to activate the line with new SIM. Thanks again to all experts here. worship

Promo ends March 30. Tried adding a line and they wouldn't budge on making it free. They gave me a kickstart plan plus 25 bill credit and the 200 card promo.

I hope that is the case, but I do not know that the sales reps have any control over that promo, Nobody has got that for kickstart in many months that I know of. There have been plenty of denials. I do not think the sales rep has anything to do with the process of getting it. They just tell you to apply for it if I recall. There still could be a chance - they are anxious to hold customers in the face of merger uncertainty

The rep was lying to you (or badly misinformed) at the least about not being able to add a free plan line. In fact, someone just added a line yesterday - see the immediately prior post. But quite a few reps have been doing that unless called out or unless the customer calls repeatedly.

All of that is just my interpretation but I might as well say it. Kickstart is still a good plan in any case.

I'll call them tonight and raise hell. Literally took an hour to Port my number in and even after that my iPhone 5s is currently out of service. They told me it would take a few hours to register and still no go next morning. I want them around for the competition but I'm really surprised people still put up with Sprint. Overall subpar carrier

I realize that holding them to their promises might be an approach, but just fyi in case you want it, Sprint does have a 30 day 100% money-back satisfaction guarantee.

Just got off the phone with them. Another 30 mins gone...
However my port was approved, somehow it got stuck and I had to call them to finish it.
They were able to change my line over from kickstart to the free BYOD plan, no hassle at all.

I am also holding them to the $25 credit they promised and will also file for the $200 mastercard for the grief they gave me. Phone number for the card promo is 8444507865. Customer service told me I might not be eligible considering I changed the plan after the original port in, however they never gave me the option of having the free BYOD plan anyway. Won't go down without a fight, but I'll update on what happens

Edit 1/28: bill was a little messed up. Despite having the plan changed from kickstart to byod the next day, change didn't take place until Jan 7. I was prorated kickstart for those two weeks. And no surprise, no credits applied to my account.

Called again and I was told credits would be applied immediately, so at least it's covered. I can't track my MasterCard promo online, but after speaking to customer service, they said it was approved and I should have it by March sometime

That's impressive that you were able to get this fixed up quickly, on one of the busiest days of the year too!
