Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I have 2 iPhone lines, one on Sprint and the other on Mint Mobile. When I do the IMEI check on hello mobile, why does it say that the phones are incompatible ? Both phones have been paid, unlocked and not under any contract.

To get some insights as to what is the issue, I would see what Tello and Ting say for both IMEI's.
here is a iphone checker i found useful ...select the "free basic info .... [sickw.com]

1. also, if one is actiave currently then that might be an issue

2. if they are sprint phones, u can check the :

A.
bring your phone to sprint checker.... [sprint.com]

B.
and check this "sprint buy back checker"...proceed as if you were selling phone back to sprint. ...note if there are errors returned..... [sprintbuyback.com]

You could port from Sprint to a Sprint mvno up to now but this could change (or it could just be a Hello issue). The same could conceivably apply at some point to porting from a TMobile mvno (Mint) to a Sprint mvno, since TMobile and Sprint have merged legally.

As Desi point out,it could alsao be a matter of past debt etc. Sometimes you can activate a phone on Sprint but not on its mvno's, for example if the phone is still under lease. (It can also be the other way around)/. This is a quite likely cause.
The previous message was with the IMEI of the digital SIM. When I changed that to the IMEI of the primary SIM, this is the message that I receive :

To activate it with us, please contact your current service provider IMMEDIATELY to resolve any financial obligations, then come back and try your phone again to enjoy your service.

What does that mean ? This line is still on the Sprint free plan.

That means that, as we suspected, the phone is still on the records as under lease to a previous owner or otherwise owed money on from a previous owner. Sprint will in may cases allow such phones to be activated on Sprint but not on its MVNO's. Many people are in that boat. You can hopefully get it onto Kickstart but not directly from the free plan.
.
You cannot use the IMEI of the digital sim to activate an iPhone on Sprint, you have to use the primary IMEI (but they also lock the digital IMEI as well though in those cases in which they lock the phone).

I had purchased this phone unlocked from the Apple store and then had moved it over to the Sprint free plan. How is it possible that there is some lease on this phone ?

Oh in that case it may merely be locked to Sprint. Even though you purchased it unlocked, Sprint will lock it temporarily in certain cases.

Try checking with Sprint and asking them to unlock it (most people suggest doing it through the International Dept these days).

Also I would run the URL links that Desi suggested and Tello and Ting if not yet done.

This is the message on Ting :

Balance owed

The account this phone is associated with has an unpaid balance with another carrier. You'll need to get in touch with them to sort it out.

OK I would also run it on the sites Desi suggested as they may give further details of the supposed balances owed.

assuming it is a sprint phone, the buyback link is the best.

if it passes there, all is well.....if any funny business going on...that buyback site will not allow u to send it back to sprint

Hi, just paid my final bill, ported out all 4 lines to Xfinity , so my relation with Sprint on this account have automatically ended? Do I need to do anything extra to further cancel the account to avoid additional charge? Thanks for any confirmation.

Porting out all lines closes the account automatically but actually I agree with FabulousBike6172 that it is worth calling in to get any Retentions offers.

Thanks comintel, but I don't need a retention offer now, I actually cancelled my lines earlier than the 06/30 expiration date to save the tax and fees on this free account, as I have a paid account ( unlimited plus) $100 for 5 lines opened for the $300 master gc promo. I will port back to this unlimited plus account from Xfinity after I get $50 bonus, hopefully I will also get the $300 promo from the unlimited plus as well. Finger crossed. Thanks as always. You are super!!!!!!

Plan ends 5/31, plan on porting number to T-Mobile connect plan. Can't do until store reopen but do I have to unlock my phone first even though sprint is running on the T-Mobile network?

Yes for now and you would be well advised to do so now anyway while it is easy to do for future flexibility.
