Just so people know, Sprint has a new offer of a free line for life for ONLY CERTAIN existing customers.

https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...on-us.html [sprint.com]

I have no idea which accounts are eligible and which are not but if you log onto your account it will have messaging if you are eligible.

I do not have a free plan account any more to see if it is eligible. Kickstart is not eligible and SWAC is not eligible.

================

Unlimited On Us. Savings For You.
Get a line of Unlimited for $0/mo. and see the savings add up — that's over $400 a year! Keep your free line for as long as you're a customer.

FAQs

Who is eligible for the Unlimited Line On Us promotion?
Existing Sprint customers who:

Joined Sprint prior to 6/17/2020.
Have an eligible plan.
Have at least one active voice line.
Are eligible to add a line of service on their account.

What plan is available with this promotion?
This line comes with the Unlimited Line On Us Plan which provides Unlimited talk, text and SD video streams at up to 480p, music at up to 500 Kbps, and gaming at up to 2 Mbps. During congestion, the small fraction of customers using more than 50GB/mo. may notice reduced speeds until next bill cycle due to data prioritization. Unlimited data on our network.

Is the line really free?
Yes! With this promotion, there is no monthly service plan charge!

How long is the line free?
The monthly service plan charge for the line remains $0/mo. for the life of the line and requires you to keep all current phone lines on your account active through June 30, 2021. Any modifications to your account, such as cancelling an existing line, changing plans on your account or transferring lines to another account may make you ineligible to continue receiving the Unlimited Line On Us Plan.

Why do I have to pay monthly taxes and fees when I don't have an active phone?
Your reserved line is just like any other line and therefore subject to standard fees and taxes even though you are not actively using the service.

How long do I have to activate a phone on my free line?
As long as you need! We'll keep the line active until you are ready to activate a phone, but why wait? Add a phone and start using your FREE Unlimited today!

Trying to figure out what is an "eligible plan" even reps have no clue.

This promo is complicated, any ideas?

Does the 4 phone for $100 offer have a known end date and do you know if it includes taxes/fees?

If you click the circled letter i, it shows you the end dates for that pricing. They are for about a year as usual. Those "x lines for $100" offers have always been for about a year. They want to be able to stick you with higher prices after you have been on for a year and hopefully to them have leased phones so you cannot leave.

Taxes and fees are extra.

If you log onto your account, it will show as a free byod offer if you are eligible.

It seems to be only higher-priced plans.

If they publish a list, I will post it if I see it.

Note you have to already be on the plan prior to yesterday to be eligible. So it is too late to get onto a plan that is eligible.

I do not know if there is a chance they may extend it later but it is at least encouraging that there are some offers still coming post-merger.

You cannot move directly from BYOD Free to kickstart.

Also, Best Buy requires a Sprint credit check so even if you port out first, your old account will show under your SSN when you apply at Best Buy and according to reports you will be refused.

So most likely you need another person/SSN (family member, relative) to get in on it.

So what plans are people moving to after this expires in June.I am considering moving to Visible for one line (unlimited data) and T mobile $15 plan for another line(which doesn't need much data)

When I use the app and look at my plan, it no longer shows the 6/30 date like it use to. Assuming the migration with TMobile removed that verbiage. However, when I look at the physical bill (pdf) it will show the date. In my case 6/30. It's been a nice 3.5 years of savings!!
You are definitely not alone - other people have also noticed that it no longer shows end dates in the same places it used to. They also connected it to the TMobile merger.

For those with 4 or 5 lines or more the Verizon deal of almost free for 8-9 months is better. Search the thread here and on SD for that and do your homework.
I only have 3 lines. Do you think the Verizon deal is a good fit?

It may be, just do the math.
It will not be free at 3 lines but it may be worth it vs other options for unlimited service.
Don't forget to take the $115/line BFRGL cashback into account.
Also, take into account that you will have to pay the monthly charge until the $250/line coupons are sent to you by Verizon so that you can use them for the monthly service.
That takes about 5-8 weeks, most get it around 35 days or so.
Also, if you have Verizon Fios and you link the accounts you'll get a $10-$20/month Fios credit depending on the Fios services you subscribe to. For Fios internet only it's $10.
Also, don't forget to add the monthly taxes/fees per line, probably $5-$10/month depending on the location.
Remember, you MUST stay with Verizon for around 7 months or Verizon will charge you for the $250/line.

If the final cost is, say, around $15/mo/line for 7 months of unlimited service, it may be worth it to you.
Keep in mind that your phones MUST be compatible with the Verizon network, check the IMEIs in the Verizon web page.

Be safe and port out.

$1 SIM cards for h2o wireless are available at Target and Best Buy.

Port out, choose the $10 plan, but don't load any actual money. The port will happen and the Sprint number will disappear from your Sprint account. The h2o number on account will disappear/release automatically in 30 days.
Can I port out from a current sprint account to h2o, not add any funds and then turn around & port that number back to sprint under a new account?

Or is h2o just where people send their unwanted numbers?

Can be done without creating an account at H2O. At their site, click Activate, enter info (you will need your Sprint account # and pin), select $10 pay-as-you-go plan. Funding the plan is optional (you can leave the air pin field blank).

This option works well for those who don't want to keep their numbers.
Thank you very much for sharing the steps!!

h2o with no money plan is a one way trip out to let the number die.

If you want to port back in, you need to add a monthly plan. I think you also need to wait a few days before they will give you the PIN that allows you to leave.
