Seems like a very good deal for an i7, specially with 256gb SDD + 8gb ram. .... if someone wants to save an additional $100.00 and can settle for i5 but everything else is same as OP post see:

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (Windows 10.1) Intel Core i5 12" Tablet w/ 256GB - Silver (Refurbished)https://www.a4c.com/product/microsoft-surface-pro-3-windows-10-1-12-tablet-w-256gb-silver-refurbishe... [a4c.com] $499.00 minus code = $399.00

I had the i5 (8gb) and when it died (under cc warranty) the price dropped so I was able to buy this one instead. Both great computers, if you're not doing a lot of cpu heavy work get the i5, it runs cooler.

I got an i5, 4gb, 128gb SP3 used (30 day warranty) from A4C ~6months ago for $300. Even though I am happy, the i5 deal here is better IMO. My SP3 was in great shape, but battery had ~90 cycles on it.

In our company we use mostly surface pro 3's. Have had two that it just black screens and you're stuck with nothing (one under normal warranty). Had to dremel the back to get to the hard drive. MS store claimed it was the HDD going bad but I have a perfectly good external drive now after getting an enclosure for it. A pain to do but oh well.
