Just a heads up. You cannot upgrade the RAM in this laptop. You have to go with the the 14" or 15.6" versions if that is important to you.

Also, Crucial does not show a HDD or SSD drive upgrade either. Makes me suspect that you can't upgrade that as well, but I'm not 100% sure.

Wow. Seems to check many boxes.
Can the student discount be used on open box? Any comments on build quality/longevity?

i bought the 910 last week. The hinge is great, but the shift key is terrible on the right side. Debating returning it and getting this.

Thanks. 8GB isn't enough these days
It is more than enough for the purpose of these kind of Ultrabooks. With 16GB memory and a U series processor, you are not going to get Turbo Charged performance.

Apart from Display Quality, in my opinion, this is a better buy, if you see the price difference. Also this one has Thunderbolt 3 port which is lacking in Yoga 910.

Next gen U series will have 4 cores. It will boost over all performance while decreasing single threaded performance. But it is in general a good trade. 8GB is probably enough for most applications. Other than for developers. (the gpu can't handle most games or graphics rendering anyway)
