Amazon rant

So I've been an Amazon prime member for 10+ years and i share the account with my mom. She is the primary. I order about 15-20 times a month without any problems all this time. Today I go on and order 3 small orders under $2 two with slow shipping one with two day shipping. The a few hours later i happen to sign in to my bank account and i have a charge for $107 for a prime account. We just paid the yearly fee in August so i call up Amazon to ask what's going on and they said my selection of two day shipping prompted them to AUTOMATICALLY sign me up for a prime membership. I didn't get any pop up, an email, nothing just a $107 charge out of nowhere.
After giving them all my info and my mothers they said yeah everything is correct. Must have been a computer glitch. Now I'm stuck waiting for them to issue a refund and for it to clear my bank. I'm just disgusted with their answer and i have no way to know if it will happen again. There was no warning, no email, didn't show up in order history, absolutely nothing but a charge to my checking account.
I hope that they don't do this to others or again to me. It's ridiculous that Amazon can just take money anytime they want without asking, without any order placed just for no reason whatsoever.

I didn't order a prime membership because I already am a prime member. I ordered a phone case and paid with an Amazon gift card.
