Channel Master has the new Stream+ for preorder with a end of January release date for $99. Not sure what the retail price will be after that.
LINK [channelmaster.com]

I was looking at the hdhomerun deal and came across this. Not sure how the price is since there is no retail price yet. But with a 30 day money back guarantee minus shipping [channelmaster.com] I'm going to try this since it also has Android app options.

Stream+ is a media player that integrates streaming services and games with live broadcast TV and includes an on-screen channel guide with DVR capability to pause, rewind and record live TV.

Consumers can add their favorite streaming services and games from the Google Play™ store to combine with the free local broadcast channels provided through a connected TV antenna, all within a single graphical user interface and a single HDMI connection to the TV. Stream+ also includes advanced Google features such as built in Chromecast™ functionality and integration with Google Home™.

The Live Channels app installs automatically during the Stream+ setup process to add over-the-air broadcast TV channels into a graphical guide, and installing a MicroSD storage card activates the Live Channels DVR setup process. The dual internal TV tuners allow the user to record one live program while watching another, or record two live programs at the same time while watching a recorded program or using a streaming service.

Looks very promising but tap the brakes a bit before you go off and hit the buy button.

- Netflix and Amazon Prime not yet supported through the device. No, PlayStore does NOT = Netflix. Netflix and Amazon have veto over any "unapproved" devices.

- Currently requires a microSD for live tv pause and DVR features. Has a USB 3.0 port but it does not currently support external storage to the device

- Doesn't yet work with Google Assistant. Instead, it uses an older, clunkier version of Google voice search that doesn't support direct video playback, smart home controls, or third-party voice skills
Channel Master was founded in 1949 and been in the OTA business and selling antennas and OTA boxes for quite some time.

Glad you found a product that works for your needs. Smilie
I read last year they were considering support for tuners, so didn't know if there was some update I haven't heard about. lol

I have Fire TV's, Android Boxes, Fire Sticks, etc. Was looking for something with a lot of integrated options, simple to use for my mom and grabbed one for me too. Mostly because I enjoying wasting money on new tech things. Facepalm

yeah, that's what I am thinking. If it does all it claims and does it well, it may be a game changer with all the apps in google play. And the entry price is nice. I wonder what it will go for retail.

So many unknowns here, but very tempting. My Windows Media Center setup is still going strong but is getting old.

Glad my FireTV 1 boxes are still going strong. But if I needed to replace any of them. This would be my preferred spec vs price option. Hope they knock it out of the park. Will keep an eye out on it's development.

Are you able to do OTA on the Fire TV? That's one of my reasons for getting this.
