I have the maxed out version. It's super easy to upgrade, if you get stuck with the killer network card you will likely have to upgrade it because it's shit and loses connectivity a lot

the thunderbolt port is only 2 lanes

I hate it when 15.6" laptops omit the numpad, this one would've been perfect with a full keyboard.

It depends on your need. Personally I don't be use it much. Having the numpad causes the touchpad to be off center. Which is a bigger nuance for me

Why not just replace the ssd? I can't imagine the smaller battery working well

no. you can use an egpu though(albeit with only 2 lanes), and in my real world tests, the 1050 in this was performing as good as the 1060 in a surface book 2.
