Create a functional, efficient computer by adding this 600W EVGA 80 PLUS 100-W1-0600-K1 ATX 12V/EPS 12V power supply to your custom build. An ultraquiet, intelligent auto fan cools components without generating much noise during operation.

After going full modular, this would be really tough to adapt to. Trust me, you'll regret it, just spend another $20/30 and make life much easier.

I've bought some partially modular PSUs at this pricepoint, but lower wattage.

Or For troubleshooting . this and one of those 24 pin bypass adaptors and you can use it for all sorts of things like testing a watercooling setup or testing other computer components before installing them like a motherboard. I have a similar cheap psu from evga that I use for that and it's awesome because I don't have to put together a whole new computer to find out there's something wrong with the board.

What does the 80 plus mean when it isn't followed by bronze, gold, etc?

If using a full size case modular doesn't matter much. It is nice though depending on case quality

Not sure whats so hard about a non-modular PSU? It's a $30 PSU, cut off the plugs you don't use and buy a new one when you upgrade. PSUs don't last forever and actually begin having poorer quality power long before they truly die.
