Home depot is selling both the white and black version of their spotlight camera battery, and throwing in a ring chime pro, for $168. The ring chime pro alone retails for $50, and is a wireless extender for ring devices only. It will also act as a doorbell has the device has a built in speaker. A must have if you have more than 1 ring device.

Seems like a good price. Surprised not getting more attention.

White one is wired, which I'd prefer. Very tempting.

I bought one of the battery powered ones from Ring.com about 10 days ago. They had it 20% off ($159) and I burned a crapload of Ring referral credits to make it sub-$100 OTD. Super easy to install. Great video quality. Both the app and the Ring Alexa skill sometimes take a while to load a video stream, but... when it does, it's pretty impressive.

Buying a house and thinking about buying into the Ring ecosystem.
Thoughts on this, alarm system, doorbell, and floodlight? Other than being a crap load of money? Is it worth the investment?

I'm assuming this isn't ideal for those with ISP data caps... :/ Glad to see it's getting cheaper though

We purchased a house last year and it came with both the Ring video doorbell and a Simply Safe alarm. Great combination in my opinion and easy for kids to activate.

Only sends video to the internet when there is a motion detection or you are watching it. So not a data hog.

I had SimpliSafe and switched to Ring Alarm. Happy with the new system and far cheaper per year.

Is the ring hardwired using a standard plug to a wall socket or is it where it comes with the red/white/black/green wires?

Standard plug. You could cut it but it voids your warranty
