We'll see how it does this winter. Worth it for piece of mind on one vacation alone. I go into work most days before my family awakes. It brings me a small bit of joy seeing them leave for school. Caught a Fed Ex guy many times taking a short break to give the animals some scratches. It was adorable.
Sure hardwired is better. Sure paid surveillance has more perks. This is good if you don't want a monthly fee, just want automated notification, can monitor "live" within 5-10 seconds, want a low entry price, and have wi-fi (2.4ghz). Best part for me is I have outdoor dogs. They bark at everything. I can initiate an alarm from my bed via the app to scare off critters from my bed. Used to have to go outside with a spotlight.
