I have an UHD 4k player and many movies on physical discs that are also available to stream on Netflix. The quality difference is very noticeable to me, so I will continue buying physical media.

Objectively, PE 1 is blown away as pertains to PQ by even Life and any of the 2010+ docs and just just isn't much left to extract according to the Cinematographers involved who have been asked. There may be some small incremental advantage possible with a better encode and some digital upscaling magic a decade later, but any improvement is going to be marginal
I'll wait for the box set
Not the same quality though.

Any specific reason to wait?
Seriously?
Netflix is not free, therefore this is not 'free' on Netflix. However, it might be included with subscription. You're welcome.
We need to pin an FYI somewhere because this gets said in every thread about every 4k disc that is also on Netflix. The quality difference between 4k streaming and a 4k disc is astounding for many people. If you do not see a difference between the two, save your money for something else you will enjoy. This is the same as any other pricier thing that people don't understand, for instance, the difference between a Rolex and a Casio watch. If you don't care about the differences, then do what makes you happy! Everyone is different and it shouldn't be offensive that other people want to spend their money differently than you do.
