Please don't buy a new computer that doesn't have an SSD. You will regret it.

My office has several computers that include Intel 7th gen Intel I5 processors. They should be really fast, but everybody hates them because you spend the whole time waiting on the hard drive.

Do yourself a favor. Get an SSD.

I think you did not read my post properly. i7-8750H makes a lot of sense, irrespective of the GPU, if user is planning to run a lot of CPU intensive tasks.

Which deal you are referring to, having i5 and $100 cheaper? But anyway, to answer your question, for pure gaming purpose, i5-8300H is pretty solid and you can spend the extra money to get some more Ram or fast SSD storage. But if you are planning to run some heavy CPU intensive tasks, along with gaming, then i7-8750H is a better option.
