Price is set to $279 with the 10% Off code: PHLDAYTEN

I have been shopping for a GTX 1070 for my son for about a month. I have been targeting $300 or under for a price. With the eBay discount code this comes out to $278.99 free shipping. No tax in many states, worked for me in MN.

This is my first post, so please let me know if I am doing this wrong.

Seller is the official EVGA store: Free Monster Hunter:World and Destiny 2 Base Game + Expansion Pass Bundle Make sure to register your product. After registration, visit EVGA's website to claim your bundles. Good while supplies last.

Should I wait another month?
AMD will be announcing new GPUs next month at CES that run directly against the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070. Reputable recent leaks suggest the GTX 1070 competitor could start low as $199.

I did a quick compare of the RX470 vs. the GTX 1070.

The GTX 1070 is 74% faster on average is the 17th fastest card versus the RX 470 is the 50th fastest card.

Check out this link for a head to head compare:

I would think for 1080P you would get very good frame rates at ultra settings on most games. This is probably not the best 4k card, you could probably give it a try on some games with the settings turned down a bit. For under $300 it might be the best card out there for 1080P and high frame rates.

$20 less and I might have to bite - holding out for 1070 at 259 or 1070 Ti at 329...

For 1080p gaming, is it worth getting a Ti or is the regular 1070 enough? I'm coming from an RX 470 on a Ryzen 7 2600, mostly playing Mechwarrior Online, and will probably play Mechwarrior 5 when it comes out.
At stock speed the 1070ti at that resolution seems to give you between 10-20 fps more on average (it'll vary based on the game). If you can find a 1070ti for $300 it might be worth the extra cost, but anything more probably not. Unless you offset a little by flipping the games... which I'm not sure how easy that is.

Great deal!

But I live literally 15minutes away from the seller's, and I have to pay around $30 in tax here in CA.

Blah.

By the way, some people may compare this card with the one that was sold for $280-$300 on bf/cm by bhphoto and amazon. This is the basic version with the lowest clocks, while the previous one was the superclocked versions with higher clocks.
I will pass, but if you can get it for $280 total then its a good deal for anyone needing a card RIGHT NOW.

A 1070 is overkill for 1080p, unless you're trying to get up to 144 FPS. A good 580 can run pretty much anything you throw at it at 1080p/60 at max settings.

I "would" have the 1070 ti at this price, but I first bought a rx 580 and then a gtx 1060 and lost money on both. lol. So when you figure up how much money I've lost on those 2 cards it makes my great deal on the 1070 ti not great anymore, but still.... even considering those mistakes I am out less than $400, so much better than when I almost paid over $300 for the 1060 before card prices started dropping!

If you're futureproofing, you might as well go a bit on the overkill side, anyway, though.

Probably when amazon had them for around $270 for a very few mins and he got CB on it from some site or card, I am assuming.

That same day I bought the 1070 from amazon for barely more, then they accidentally sent me the 1070 ti and paid me extra to keep it... but now I have to hope it works properly since EVGA won't honor the warranty if it doesn't.

Either way, though, people can't act like that ONE day on amazon is the norm. It's VERY rare that even the standard 1070 goes under $300.

I am new to gaming from couple of months and i wanted to see how I like it. so I bought 1050ti ssc because prices were high. Just playing pubg & csgo . So do you recommend any gpu upgrade like 1070ti or shall I I over clock current GPU and use it for couple of years. Please suggest. Thank you.
