What marketing genius decided to use the Swedish name for the company for use in the U.S.? Crazy

They were 'Overhead Door' before the name change, locally in Charlotte. It appears the name change was part of a coordinated marketing push with them sponsoring NFL teams around the country.

They were Piedmont Garage Doors here in Winston-Salem. I've seen the add for Panthers marketing tie-in...I still am surprised someone didn't push for a different name for US (English) marketing purposes. Now they are Assa Abloy Entrance Systems.

We had a Assa Abloy fabric door installed on the fuel building at work a couple of years ago after a minor issue with the old door. I didn't think it had a chance and figured it would be junk, but even opening and closing 30 to 40 times a day it has worked well so far.



The fabric door looks something like this:
