If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull Smilie

Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

If i were to move the card to a Chase Freedom without an annual fee is the account number still the same. I mean on the credit report will a new card show up and this as closed.
Same number so it'd be the same card as far as your credit report is concerned.

I imagine that these credit gurus wouldn't recommend transferring CSP to CF/CFU because of the missed opportunity to get their additional 20k points sign-up bonus ($200 straight cash back or $250 in travel via CSP portal). The CF/CFU shouldnt require as high as a credit score anyways.

Depends.

If there's other 5/24 cards you'd rather use your 5/24 slots on for better offers then PCing this to one of those is fine.

Also fine to do that if you need a SECOND Freedom (as some folks do because they spend more than the $1500 per quarter 5x cap on their first freedom)

I saw some has mentioned, converting the credit into paypal ofcourse with fees. How to do that as i see paypal allows only debit cards/link bank account to add the funds.

No as long as you keep your account active and open.

Does anyone know if they will hike up the annual fee of CHASE reserve from $450 to $550 or is that still a rumor? Thanks!

Thanks for bringing this up... I hadn't heard anything, so I naturally googled it. There have been no word from Chase or other major news outlets so definitely still a rumor.

In brief, CSR fee supposed to go up by $100 to $550 a year, but you get $10-20/month in dining credit (just like you aready get $300/year in travel credit). If you're using this card as intended for travel and dining, then it's good news because it means lower effective annual fee (which I presently consider just $150/year).

Is there a cool down period for upgrading this to the CSR?

Is there a number to call and see if you are on the clear to apply as far as dates you last had this particular card and were awarded the bonus then?

Folks,

I will be charged AF in a few days. I went through most of the threads and planning to convert Sapphire to Chase Freedom to avoid AF. Can someone please confirm that the reward points earned under Chase Sapphire care will be left alone and I can use later? Also, is there an option to convert Chase Saphhire or Chase Freedom points to cash?

Thanks

I'm $120 away from my 4k spend but it says needs to be done by the 16th so I think I'm screwed. I'm new to the CC points game and why do merchant place transactions as "pending" for so long? I've got $500 "pending" transactions that probably won't clear in time.

Yeah, it converts just fine when you perform the product change. Ultimate Rewards points are still UR points, you just don't have access to the 1.25x travel redemption.

You can always redeem the points for cash at 1cent per point. That can be done with the Sapphire or the Freedom so there's no rush.

If the purchase occurred before the deadline, you're fine.

Where have you gotten those offers from? Postal mail, email, on your Chase account?
