Saw a new sign at Walmart that looks pretty interesting. There's no dates on it, and I can't find any info on the deal anywhere which tells me that someone probably screwed up and put the sign out too soon....but anyway.

Seems like a pretty good deal for AT&T network:

$50/mo. but $40 with autopay:
- UNL Talk & Text
- 25GB High Speed Data then 2G
- Hotspot included
- Mexico and Canada roaming included

2 lines would be $70, 3 lines would be $100, 4 lines would be $120, and 5 lines would be $140.

Looks like this deal is only at Walmart - everywhere else has 16GB data offer and it requires autopay. This offer looks like it doesn't require auto-pay.

I am not going to switch my other 4 lines over to this until I see this happen on my initial account.

Any idea when the end date of this promo is?
No end date was given for the prom, but Wally promos usually run at least a month. I think the 16GB promo ends July 11th so that could well be the end of this one too.

Straight Talk has taxes too...the yeah plan is $41.25/mo plus tax ($495/12). This is $40/mo plus tax AND you get hotspot AND you get Mexico calling AND you can swap phones easily without dealing with garbage customer service AND you don't have to pay $500 up front AND....AND....AND...

Tracfone companies are lacking in many ways. This deal puts Straight Talk to shame.
ST has way lower taxes than ATT with all their fees plus taxes. I checked out total cost of that unlimited plan that was on SD....LOL, total joke. And I couldn't use my corporate discounts, b/c prepaid. ATT knows exactly what they're doing. If you can't afford your cell service up front for a year, then you can't afford that plan (so pretty irrelevant). And what am I gonna do with their hotspot? I've never used it in my life and will never use it (have corporate work phone on ATT).

Also, I'm never going to that shit hole. Idk what you're talking about swapping phones...it's a sim card that you swap like any other sim. Jokes on you, I've never had a problem with their customer service and never had to wait.
I've had my family on ST for many years at this point. It works and data keeps getting bumped.

😂 dude it's sales tax. There aren't any extra fees for AT&T Prepaid. This is prepaid not postpaid. Their Unlimited plan offer a few months back was an even better deal than this one IMO. $45 for Unlimited data with autopay.

If you have your "family" on Straight Talk then you're just wasting money.

Committing yourself to any prepaid company for 12 months by paying up front and only receiving an 8% discount is the definition of insanity.

Frickin Sprint. I just tried to activate an iphone 7 that I recently took off of one of my Sprint lines to switch over to a Pixel. Appeared to be locked from the message when I put in the AT&T sim even though my AT&T prepaid account allowed to do the IMEI device swap. It didn't complain when I entered the IMEI number anyway.
Now have to wait for the Sprint unlock process to complete. Why they locked the phone to begin with is a mystery. It is my phone which have been paid off for more than a year now. I know I had them unlock it at least one time before. Do they do this chit just to annoy customers? Can't get away from them fast enough.

Where does it state the bonus data is deprioritized and/or not the same as high speed data? What is it - 3g?

Jesus, the FUD in this thread is ridiculous. You get all 25GB at max speed, LTE. I regularly speed test between 80 and 100mbps download speeds. While AT&T reserves the right to deprioritize your data (vs postpaid) in the 5+ years I've had AT&T Prepaid, I've never noticed a slowdown that those on postpaid around me did not also notice. Yes, if you miss a payment or change plans, your bonus 17GB data goes away forever. So don't do that. No, AT&T isn't trying to screw you. Stop reading into the meaning of "high speed data". The plan is pretty straightforward. Buy the phone at WalMart, activate it in the 8GB plan, and you get 25GB/mo as long as you remain on the plan.
According to the bottom of this page: https://www.walmart.com/cp/9888697

"AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds when the network is congested."

ALL of the 25GB of data is deprioritized during congestion. Depending on where you are located, this could be a deal killer. I am on their $75/85 unl. plan and it is not deprioritized during congestion at all until you hit 22GB of usage. (The $55/65 unl. plan however is deprioritized at all times)

Why did you selectively copy and paste to mislead people?

The 25GB is not deprioritized. The statement is clearly marked with a superscript "5" referring to the unlimited plan and specifically labeled as such...

$55 Unlimited Monthly Plan: For all data usage, you may temporarily experience reduced speeds during times of network congestion. Video streaming limited to a max of 1.5Mbps at Standard Definition quality (about 480p). See att.com/broadbandinfo for details on AT&T network management policies. Mobile hotspot use prohibited.

Like it or not, all prepaid service is deprioritized compared to postpaid..just a fact. They have to have a caveat to make folks pay them prices for postpaid.
Case in point, I generally get 60Mbps download or more most of the time. Yesterday I was downtown around 5pm and the speed was only 1-3Mbps in a location where I know speeds are generally much higher. I'm in a fairly small town as well(Jacksonville, Fl) fwiw

I actually spoke with customer service and they assured me I could switch to another device without effecting the promo. So I switched the sim to an iPhone, however it will be up to 10 days before bonus data is added. My speed and call quality is very good so far.
Nice, hope that's the case. They didn't say you need to use the walmart phone until the bonus data is added to your account? Please keep us posted!

Go to that page and click "Monthly Plans" near the chart. It CLEARLY STATES this: PROOF: https://imgur.com/a/9tgAvOz for the 25GB plan. It specifically mentions the 25GB plan. It states before all else that the 25GB plan is deprioritized during congestion. Learn to read man.

"25GB High-speed data - How it works
AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds when the network is congested."

Edit: BTW, that superscript is only referring to the cheaper unlimited plan. The 75/85 plan is not deprioritized whatsoever prepaid vs postpaid, until after 22GB of usage.

Yes, Target (5/10/15% off plus 5% Redcard if you have one), also Kroger, though taxes may apply. It seems to vary by state. Also, people have problems checking out with Kroger.

Anybody still on the $30/mo T-mobile 5GB, 100 minute prepaid plan like I am?

I actually get great service from T-mo here in San Diego unlike some people on the internets who are constantly complaining about them, but am considering jumping to this plan since I usually go over the 100 minutes (and pay 10c/min after) and have to be really conscious with my data usage. Anybody considering doing this or are definitely doing this?
I'm very happy with my TMobile plan, it still includes data free (e.g.,YouTube) and Music Freedom (e.g., IHeart). This month, I've used almost 50GB data. After that, it will get throttled.
You just have to manage the metered 5GB cap. I regularly use 40+GBs/mo.

And I like the free phone promos from TMobile. So far, I've gotten an LG Aristo and Aristo 2 Plus free. Thinking about getting another Aristo 2 Plus soon.

There's no way that's accurate. You're signing up for the 8GB plan that doesn't have the deprioritization as the basic unlimited plan. Either, they're actively putting that on all fine print going forward as a caveat for prepaid, or they screwed up with the copy/paste.

Look at the standard details for the 16GB promo they're offering everywhere else...there's no mention of deprioritization.
