You have to add to cart to see the price. No student ID or anything necessary.

I know that there are a lot of nerds out there who think that this is overpriced given the specs, but if you want a Surface Laptop 2, this is the lowest price that I've seen.

Given the cheap price of SSDs, being stuck with 128 GB for this price is unacceptable

Which one is better to school considering the price? MateBook D for 499$ on https://flash.newegg.com/product/N82E16834324036 or this 750$ Microsoft Surface? (I know that obviously is surface but about price, does 250$ more really worths it?)

Considering Google just banned Huawei from Android, I would be nervous Microsoft follows suit.

It's a beautiful, and beautifully made laptop. But I won't get one until they 1) switch from the horrible Marvell wifi chip to Intel or Qualcomm; 2) add USB-C, preferably with charging and Display Port capability; and 3) make 256GB the base storage level. 128GB isn't enough, particularly since there's not even an SD card slot to expand storage. Microsoft asks for about $300 to get 256GB storage, an insult at a time when a 256GB NVME SSD costs less than $50 at retail. Even Apple isn't that greedy!

1) and 3) could be easily fixed on almost any other laptop, but Microsoft made this computer impossible to upgrade.

I have noticed that most of the laptops in BestBuy has 128GB SSD config. Guess, BB's business model.

That isn't going to happen. Once Windows is installed, Microsoft doesn't care who made the computer. Denying updates to people based on the manufacturer only hurts everyone - Microsoft wants you to update, it's in their interest.

They may end up denying OEM licenses to Huawei, which would mean they couldn't produce new computers with Windows, but they won't block updates.

Android is different because the OEM is responsible for tailoring the updates to their devices. Windows updates are mostly universal and don't depend on the OEM. What Google did is to stop sharing the new code with Huawei, so they won't have access to new updates and versions, which they could then customize for their devices. Microsoft will continue rolling out updates to all Windows 10 users regardless of who put together the hardware.
