Sorry if this has already been answered.
1. I am currently an AT&T postpaid subscriber. How do I retain my existing number without porting to some other carrier and then moving back to AT&T prepaid?

2. Does AT&T prepaid now include VOLTE, HD Voice and Wifi calling? I couldn't find any mention of that on AT&T website. Any pointers will be helpful.

Nothing like that out there now for big discounts? Probably have to wait till Black Friday and by then this deal probably won't be around.

It won't be unless it gets extended. This deal ends 10/21, Thanksgiving is 11/28

Cricket's $60 unlimited plan will get 15gb free hotspot.
Cricket is doing v low numbers lately so theyre doing some bogos.
Source: family member who works for cricket.
That's all they're offering? No wonder they're losing customers to Metro. Cricket should be handing out free phones for all their throttled low-priority service.

2. Yes, yes, yes. If you have iPhone or at&t branded phone with those features. A few unlocked phones work like pixel 3, or 3a. LG v30 etc

Actually, just had a shower thought...

This is basically like postpaid in that you are locking yourself to AT&T Prepaid for a year - this will stop you transfering to other carriers/deals when the new iPhones come out in Sept/Oct.

So good if you don't need a new phone (my iPhone X should last another year), or buy phones outright.

Cool! What phones did you get or do you have a link to that old offer? My Mint service isn't ending until November, so timing might be right if they have another promo like the one you got.

So to clarify, once you got the phones from Walmart, you paid them off in full, then they became unlocked so you could use them on ATT? Did the phones not come with service from Walmart already? TIA.
Yes. Make sure to pay it in full then call customer service to have it unlocked. It takes about 24hrs once the phone is fully paid. Then you're free to cancel and go prepaid.

Btw it was an iphone xr which came with $300gc at walmart last black friday.

Red pocket doesn't support mms from iPhone to android or vice versa.. Android to android mms works just fine..
Do you mean just on at&t network? Because I have an android on RP and send and receive them just fine from iphone people BUT I think everyone here uses Verizon or Verizon towers. Nobody else has good coverage here.

Gotcha. I figured that's what you meant. I'm pretty much stuck with V and even their coverage isn't great anymore given all their 5g changes.

I tried Verizon prepay but left quickly as peak speeds were terrible. 1-3 mbps download during the day. Switched ATT prepaid haven't seen lower then 50mbps. Just depends on location tower congestion and location

The Deal is not $300! I work for AT&T and can tell you the deal is not what it appears after you read the fine print. It's a bit misleading to claim the price is only $25 a month! The real price is closer to $33 a month after taxes so it comes out to $401 a year! What is NOT stated in the details is the FACT that AT&T will credit your account with $300 dollars towards the plan and then deduct $25 dollars every month (plus any overages, like international long distance, if any) from the temporary holding account at AT&T but they will charge the additional $5-$10 in taxes from your credit card directly or if you don't setup CC autopay they will deduct the monthly taxes and overages every month from your AT&T holding account. No matter how you slice the deal, you will deplete your $300 balance by month 9 which will force you to top off starting at month 9 of your service or your service will cease to operate from month 9 through month 12!
