It worked for me with AT&T prepaid cards that got from Target , I called 1-800-901-9878 and activated my line with CRP, she said this new line has to be with $300 with new plan. I told that I already got the $300 recharge cards and she took them and said they works. The only thing I have to check is CC will be getting charged or not.

i had to call that number to get access to my online account and then i was able to manually add my prepaid cards. the rep said my account should be good for one year now and my card wont be charged but i will keep an eye on my card transactions for next few days to make sure they dont charge my card. thanks everyone.

You could always just buy a $25 VISA gift card and use that I guess. Then pay the remainder with prepaid cards. It does state there are no refunds for those $300 dollars on this page after all. So, they may start refusing to refund your cc since it's part of the "terms." I'd go this route if I had to do it again.
Nope, won't work. They place a $300+ hold on your CC. If the CC you're using doesn't have enough to cover the full amount including taxes it won't let you continue.

This is not true. I used a prepaid Visa debit card with $70 balance that I got from a tire rebate, and it debited only $5 plus tax. I am able to check the transaction history online for the debit card. And I already received the SIM kit by FedEx.

I did not activate it because I changed my mind and decided to go with the Walmart 25 GB plan. I will try to return the kit at an AT&T store.

I'm really happy I chose the Walmart plan over this. ATT sucks in my apartment so sticking with Verizon. Better to be out $40 then $300.

I had exactly the same experience. I put the sim card back in the mail with the included prepaid return label and hopefully I get my $5 and change back

Only now I want to cancel the WMT plan because ATT service not liking

I think it varies. If you look at the 2nd page of this thread, you'll see someone paying an extra $8 per month. I would've paid $21 for the year in taxes if I'd used my card. Using prepaid cards, I paid nada, zip, zero.

Chrome. BOGO 10% is available. At that time it was 10% off on $50 card (no BOGO) which is no longer available.

You still need to buy some cheap handset to get the deal, right?

Also, is there any difference (or prioritization) between the Walmart 25GB plan and the AT&T 8GB plan? Is Walmart seen as a MVNO like Cricket?

I ported my number from Verizon to Total Wireless about a month ago to stay on the same towers, and save some money, but I'm giving this a go. Hopefully I don't have as many problems as I did porting from Verizon.

I noticed on Total Wireless I definitely take a hit to speed during peak times around noon and again during the evening when work lets out. I assume this is because I'm near a large metropolitan area (Nashville) most the time. It was bad enough I couldn't get navigation apps such as Google Maps or Waze to operate properly and speed tests would dip below the 1Mbps range. I expected this type of behavior from a MVNO but not to such extents of inoperability.

I do work "out in the boonies" though at times so hopefully there will be enough AT&T coverage to ensure this isn't a $300 mistake or I can at least get Wifi calling working over my company provided Verizon hotspot.

I'd check out At&t's coverage in the areas you frequent before unloading the $300.00. Freeup may be a good cheap way to test it.
