Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

Has anyone has received approval of the rebate? I submitted my trade-ins on 5th of this month and I see below on my t-mobile account.

Reward Type: Virtual Prepaid Card
Status: Received.

What does it mean? Is the rebate still under process? When will I know, that my rebate is approved? Thanks.
Maybe you should go take an English class.

So what is the time we can request unlock code? I see people said after 41 days since activation, but paperwork says after 2 full billing cycles.

What is the time we can cancel the line and avoid chargeback? I see some folks said after receiving rebate (and of course unlocking my phone), but others said 3 month bills, or even 6 months.

Anyone did this kind of promotion before? Please advise! Thanks πŸ™

I also determined that if i was just doing this to get the iphone free and clear, having 3 months of bills, doesn't make it a great savings.

But if you're either on tmobile, or for my case, i just dropped verizon and went to tmobile, i would have been paying the monthly fee for usage already, I consider it a savings, and I can switch back in 3 months and port all my numbers back no biggie. Also because you did an 7 trade in, if you sold that at market value stated, and buy a 6s for $100-120 its also more savings.
you are not counting your current bill.

I wouldn't risk it and would personally go back to the costco to have them to repeat the trade in process correctly.
I have the same issue. Did not get the promo docs (2 &3 in wiki). Not sure if the rep did not hand it to me or if she chose the wrong promo. Is there a way to check? Perhaps at my local Costco ?. Unfortunately, I did it in a Costco while I was on a trip 200 miles away.

Interestingly, I was able to submit the rebate last night. Hoping that it means I am good for the promo. Anyone know ? Thanks.

If I wait till rebate card is sent to me and then cancel line and try to return the device within 90 days, will that work?
I hope you get banned.

Totally depends on the rep you get. I did it successfully 5 times with the xr deals. All on the 41st day. Some reps say 2 billing cycles. Hang up and call again

Personally if I were in your boat I'd sell the 8, buy a cheaper 6s, and open a new line for the 11 and trade-in the 6s. Depending on the condition the 8 is worth considerably more than the 6s. 4-6 weeks of anxiety not knowing whether the rebate will be approved would not be worth it for me lol.
Thanks. That is actually what I am doing.

from my experience today, it is not the reps who makes the 6 months policy, but the system is not allowing them to proceed with the application. they entered my details and submitted the credit application and they got a pop up which said previous account found something like that. so i was told that if u had an account in last 6 months, they cannot do it and i need to call tmob. my account was closed in July first week from the Apr-May deal for XS max.

Dude, no offence but you've got to stop misusing these offers...!!!
Once an year can be at least justified, twice a year and that to cancelling all lines right after getting the card will just prevent them from coming up with similar offers in future !
I wish they come up with at least 6 months bill credits (rather than rebate cards) to dissuade folks like you !

I got three new lines and phones through this deal and started 3 trade in. Now I see the costco rep entered slightly wrong information for 2 of those trade ins. IMEI number is correct but one iphone 6s is 16 GB but entered as 32 and second one is iphone 7 plus 32 gb but entered as iphone 7 32 gb. Has anybody experience with this kind of issue? I am inclined to just send it as IMEI number is correct but wanted to check if anybody had success with this kind of issue.
I had the same issue, the Costco lady entered 6s Plus instead of just 6s so the "fair trade in value" came up as $50 instead of $31.
When I talked to the Assurant folks, they said "not a big deal" since the IMEI is correct, they will assess the phone anyway and send me the new offer to accept.
But to save the processing delay later on, I still went to Costco and got it corrected, they gave me a new paper with new shipping label and RMA receipts !!!

rightFog5599πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚the one I went to is like a 120 miles. But I guess you're right. Might not be worth the risk
try calling them and see if the rep can do it. it happened to me with similar deals early this year where I bought the phone in NH and the rep shipped(fedex overnight) me the shipping label to VA when he couldn't print the labels while doing transaction. some reps are nice and do understand genuine concern..doesn't hurt to fish your luck before you take joy ride for 4 hours!!

I just realized that when filling up the online form for the rebate GC I entered the second IMEI printed in the Box - IMEI 2 and not the primary one for the iphone 11.. I think that IMEI is for the virtual SIM.

Contacted TMO right after using the message feature on the site explaining the mistake. Also on the form I submitted they of course have have the attached picture of the box with all the info including the primary IMEI

You guys thing it could be an issue?

While checking the status of the rebate everything seems kosher and just said it was accepted/received.. Should I actually call them?

No need to call, just submit rebate again with the correct information. T-Mobile will reject one and approve the other.

Just bought this.

Do I need to use the new lines/sim cards at all?
I was planning on using the new phone on my current line/phone number, and throw the new sim card away. Then wait 90 days and cancel it.

It wouldn't affect the rebate requirements, would it?

Can someone chime in..

What happens if I cancel an old existing line in my account AFTER i opened a new account as part of this deal? Will it affect the bill credits in any way? I could not find any specific answer to this and it si not listed on the terms of the promo.. it only mentions if previosuly cancelled a line in the past 90 days...
I'm in the same boat, trying to cancel an existing line after adding the new line. One rep told me to wait 90 days before cancel. Did anyone cancel existing line within 90 days and still got the rebate?
