Jeez...

-Simple Choice is NOT eligible. No, your account isn't special. It won't work. You have to change plans

-If you don't walk out of the store w/ the new Iphone in your hand, you will get bill credits. Which means you are stuck for 2 years and the extra you're paying for the line lessens this deal.

-Deal is $500 rebate for 6s phones, $700 for iPhone 7 and beyond. If you have an iPhone 6 or lower, you're getting no rebate. End of story. There are no loopholes or "what ifs".

-Phone screen can't be cracked. Not a "what about a little crack in the corner" comment. It will be rejected. Same goes for "what about a home button not working." Try it, but don't be surprised when it gets rejected. It's your $700 gamble. Stop asking if it will work.

-If your screen is cracked, get it fixed by a 3rd party place before sending in. It's typically less than $100

-Phone can be unlocked after 40 days w/ a request to Tmobile, and then used with any wireless service.

-Can't cancel line until you get your rebate; then go ahead and cancel or port out. Rebate takes 2-3 months to get

-Phone supports dual sim, so put your current ph# on the Esim (just go to a Tmobile store and ask) and the sim card with your new # in the phone. Yes, you can now have 2 numbers on new iPhones. Then you don't risk the phone # not being active while waiting for the rebate.

-If you want a cheap iPhone 7, look on the internet. Don't be lazy. Otherwise try a boost mobile store and read the "instore promo" offers on their website. Some are shady, so ask everything they're charging you for.

-Lastly, don't trust the Costco wireless reps. Hundreds of people here have done this and similar deals. They know better than any rep you will meet, as they've all done these deals.
Please make sure that you buy the phone outright, meaning limited colors and storage options.

My local store didn't have the iPhone 11 in stock and I was told I'd still get the GC rebate. After reading all the paperwork, when I got home, this isn't the case. Had to go back to cancel the line and wait for the phone shipment to arrive to go back and return that (which you have to mail yourself with the label provided). 2 weeks later, EIP is still on my account.
You are talking CRAP.....stop telling untruths.

This is ABSOLUTELY wrong

ANY listed phone, ANY carrier.....as long as its in good condition and not icloud locked

I have traded in 4 boost iphone 7, no problem at all
Are you saying to ignore the fact that the phone is locked to Boost as the carrier, and if you check its IMEI on that ting byod site everyone uses here it says "this device has not reached financial eligibility"?

I've searched this thread and tried googling for an answer, but can't seem to find it. I have an existing tmobile account, but it's a grandfather account so I can't add lines since would have to switch plan.

Can I open another separate tmobile account, open 2 lines, and get this Costco trade in deal or am I limited to just one Tmobile account?

Wow, thanks !! Just to be sure - does the phone model have to be the same when I send in the one with the new IMEI. The one they have on paper is an XR which I cannot send. I'll get a 7 instead and send that with the IMEI updated.
They only care if the trade in phone is meeting all requirements. They will adjust and give bill credit for the actual phone. Doesn't have to be the same model.

Rep told me today that starting tomorrow (11/27) they are having the following promo on the iPhone 11 that doesn't require adding a line:

For a limited time in all markets, save up to $400 off (via one-time trade-in credit and virtual rebate card) when you buy a new Apple iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, XR, XS, or XS Max on EIP and trade in a qualifying iPhone model.

With the promotion that starts tomorrow, the iphone 8 is eligible for $300.

New promotions start weekly Wednesday after 12pm.
iPhone 8 for $300? Is that the trade value?

How much for 11 after iPhone 7 trade? If you know thx

I spoke to kiosk rep and was told I couldn't open another account under my name but could do it under my wife's name. I will give it another try tonight going in with my wife.

Finding all sneaky wireless employees around in multiple Costco's. They lie about inventory even when they have plenty on hand. And purposely delay by hours to avoid selling.

If deal is not beneficial to them then why run it? And waste customer time.
What happened? And what location

I bought a iPhone 7 online from Boost and I get this message when I do IMEI check in Ting website. But I don't get this error in Boost Mobile website. See this link in Ting website -
https://ting.com/blog/sprint-phon...ilty-date/

I think we are getting this error because the phone is locked to Boost and was not used 12 months as required.

The IMEI of the phone I got is 14 digits. Yet ting recognizes it. But T-Mobile's BYOD page doesn't accept 14 digits for IMEI. It wants 15 digits. I can randomly add a zero to the end and it accepts it. I didn't even know that there were 14 digit IMEIs. What's the deal there?

The financial eligibility is a sprint internal criteria to control where a phone can be used within the sprint network. Should not apply outside of sprint.

uhh, Boost iphone 7 works if purchased directly from their website, dont understand why someone said they didnt. Had a friend trade one in directly to T-mobile for the bill credits.
Do you have to port in number or can you be new customers?

Yes, you're right. for this one the IMEI is MEID plus an extra digit at the end. T-Mobile sites.

So, the phone is locked to a carrier. This is what the wiki says.

"At Costco, you will get a quote for trade-in value of your phone based on its specs. Once you mail your phone and Assurant receives and inspects it, T-Mobile will give you a bill credit in the amount of the quote (or they may adjust the quote if something about the phone is different, i.e. your iPhone is locked to a carrier instead of being unlocked). "
