-Simple Choice is NOT eligible. No, your account isn't special. It won't work. You have to change plans
-If you don't walk out of the store w/ the new Iphone in your hand, you will get bill credits. Which means you are stuck for 2 years and the extra you're paying for the line lessens this deal.
-Deal is $500 rebate for 6s phones, $700 for iPhone 7 and beyond. If you have an iPhone 6 or lower, you're getting no rebate. End of story. There are no loopholes or "what ifs".
-Phone screen can't be cracked. Not a "what about a little crack in the corner" comment. It will be rejected. Same goes for "what about a home button not working." Try it, but don't be surprised when it gets rejected. It's your $700 gamble. Stop asking if it will work.
-If your screen is cracked, get it fixed by a 3rd party place before sending in. It's typically less than $100
-Phone can be unlocked after 40 days w/ a request to Tmobile, and then used with any wireless service.
-Can't cancel line until you get your rebate; then go ahead and cancel or port out. Rebate takes 2-3 months to get
-Phone supports dual sim, so put your current ph# on the Esim (just go to a Tmobile store and ask) and the sim card with your new # in the phone. Yes, you can now have 2 numbers on new iPhones. Then you don't risk the phone # not being active while waiting for the rebate.
-If you want a cheap iPhone 7, look on the internet. Don't be lazy. Otherwise try a boost mobile store and read the "instore promo" offers on their website. Some are shady, so ask everything they're charging you for.
-Lastly, don't trust the Costco wireless reps. Hundreds of people here have done this and similar deals. They know better than any rep you will meet, as they've all done these deals.
My local store didn't have the iPhone 11 in stock and I was told I'd still get the GC rebate. After reading all the paperwork, when I got home, this isn't the case. Had to go back to cancel the line and wait for the phone shipment to arrive to go back and return that (which you have to mail yourself with the label provided). 2 weeks later, EIP is still on my account.
This is ABSOLUTELY wrong
ANY listed phone, ANY carrier.....as long as its in good condition and not icloud locked

Specifically, the second point below:
Why isn't my phone in the clear?
The first three instances below are the m ost common cases where a phone hasn't passed its FED. The fourth and fifth reasons are less common and totally preventable if you buy your phone from a reputable reseller.
The phone was purchased directly from Sprint on a postpaid account and hasn't fulfilled its contract term or paid its early termination fee (ETF).
The phone was purchased from a prepaid carrier and hasn't been active with that carrier for the required minimum 12 months before moving.
I tired to buy a phone off Facebook marketplace. I found a iPhone 11 in stock at Costco and half way through we found out the IMEI wouldn't take. I called T-Mobile and they escalated it and told me it was okay to leave the store and come back. They took a few hours to tel me the device was still on EIP from the original owner. So I headed to boost to get their deal. I had purchased the phone at Costco already but the re locked it up for me till T-Mobile got things sorted out on what I thought was a good IMEI. I even had T-Mobile check the phone instore before I purchased so beware of 3rd party phones!
At boost:
I paid $305 for two new phones at boost, included $80 plan, activation, insurance fee?, taxes etc so that's $152 per phone not too bad.
Back to Costco:
The process was interrupted so I was left with an added line but no rebate info. Worst case scenario and what some of you mentioned above. The rep called dealer support and I think they transferred him to virtual sales and then they got customer care on the line. They all reviewed my account and agreed they could cancel the line and not affect the promotion, they called it a special name but I don't remember what. Basically it's not really a cancel it's just aborting the thing from their end, they also noted the account heavily. It might have been called a no complete? After the T-Mobile team took care of that the Costco rep added a new line again, scanned the phone I had paid for, processed the trade and I left the store with a return label and all paperwork. They said it was easy to do since it was same day but not sure if it HAS to be same day. Not sure if this will help others but hopefully it will.
Costco rep also confirmed they get shipments in overnight nightly but have no idea what is coming in.
In all my dealing with T-Mobile today they also mentioned a new deal is dropping tomorrow, I am trying to get more info but basically it's a trade in with no add a line type deal.

I was told by the rep. at costco that they the IMEI number to print the shipping label during the promo period in order to get the rebate. Is that true?
How long should i wait to cancel the service on Tmo if i'm opening a new acct? can a existing customer open another acct to avail this offer.
Appreciate if anyone can chime in..
The part about not adding a line would basically mean you are replacing an existing phone. I don't know if you would be required to activate the iPhone or not.
From what I've read, Tmobile usually requires 40 days of service before they will unlock it.
When I bought my Pixel 3a last week, I didn't activate it in store. They added it to my account (as in the device shows up next to the number, whereas it previously said "unknown device" - since I've just been buying unlocked devices), but I told them I would just use my existing SIM and do everything at home - so I walked out with the phone in a box. Since it was legit for my kid, I don't know if it is locked to Tmobile or any of that.
As far as I know, they can't tell if the Pixel is being used or not, since my kid is using the SIM from his old Moto phone.....so I assume I could just call in 40 days and ask for it to be unlocked.

I'd love to not get ripped of if I go back for more phones, which I will if Costco has more stock.
Here is how I recall it being broken down. Where did I go wrong?
$50 phone
$36 tax phone

$25 activation line 1
$15 activation line 2
$80 plan
$7 insurance line 1
$0 waived insurance line 2
Math adds to 292... I think there was some tax on the activation or something too
