Jeez...

-Simple Choice is NOT eligible. No, your account isn't special. It won't work. You have to change plans

-If you don't walk out of the store w/ the new Iphone in your hand, you will get bill credits. Which means you are stuck for 2 years and the extra you're paying for the line lessens this deal.

-Deal is $500 rebate for 6s phones, $700 for iPhone 7 and beyond. If you have an iPhone 6 or lower, you're getting no rebate. End of story. There are no loopholes or "what ifs".

-Phone screen can't be cracked. Not a "what about a little crack in the corner" comment. It will be rejected. Same goes for "what about a home button not working." Try it, but don't be surprised when it gets rejected. It's your $700 gamble. Stop asking if it will work.

-If your screen is cracked, get it fixed by a 3rd party place before sending in. It's typically less than $100

-Phone can be unlocked after 40 days w/ a request to Tmobile, and then used with any wireless service.

-Can't cancel line until you get your rebate; then go ahead and cancel or port out. Rebate takes 2-3 months to get

-Phone supports dual sim, so put your current ph# on the Esim (just go to a Tmobile store and ask) and the sim card with your new # in the phone. Yes, you can now have 2 numbers on new iPhones. Then you don't risk the phone # not being active while waiting for the rebate.

-If you want a cheap iPhone 7, look on the internet. Don't be lazy. Otherwise try a boost mobile store and read the "instore promo" offers on their website. Some are shady, so ask everything they're charging you for.

-Lastly, don't trust the Costco wireless reps. Hundreds of people here have done this and similar deals. They know better than any rep you will meet, as they've all done these deals.
Please make sure that you buy the phone outright, meaning limited colors and storage options.

My local store didn't have the iPhone 11 in stock and I was told I'd still get the GC rebate. After reading all the paperwork, when I got home, this isn't the case. Had to go back to cancel the line and wait for the phone shipment to arrive to go back and return that (which you have to mail yourself with the label provided). 2 weeks later, EIP is still on my account.
You are talking CRAP.....stop telling untruths.

This is ABSOLUTELY wrong

ANY listed phone, ANY carrier.....as long as its in good condition and not icloud locked

I have the space gray 64gb pro, willing to switch
I'm in bay area, CA. As someone mentioned, I don't know what is the consequence of the swap. Accounts have the IMEI of the phone attached.

Do I have to keep using iPhone 11 or I can use another phone but keep the number activated?
You have to keep activated, another post suggested to use rsim that you can get in a Tmobile store to keep the active status.

I've never had to use the phone before on other promotion but I've been hearing that they're now checking for usage. You should be able to use e-sim and have your other number on the same phone as well while you're waiting for the promotion to get approved.

The phones are definitely eligible for trade in. I purchased 4 IPhone 7 from boost mobile and did the family plan 4 for $100.

I've done similar deals before using boost mobile phones as trade in's and I've never had any issues.
Would you happened to know if I could port in a number to Boost Mobile to obtain the iphone7 pricing, and then port out of Boost Mobile into T-Mobile on the same day without issues?

No it cannot be done online. If you do it online then you'll end up getting the 24 month bill credit. As the Wiki says, you physically have to walk out with a phone from a costco store.
Any activation or other fees associated if I have them order it online?
Would they charge me Costco discounted price and get monthly credit?

You should be able to. Is the number you want to port into boost a T-Mobile number? If you port from T-Mobile to boost and back to T-Mobile then the line wouldn't be considered a new line.

I created 4 free google voice number numbers and paid $3 each to get them unlocked from google and ported those to boost mobile.

You would not pay activation fee but i believe the prices you would be paying would be t-mobile prices, not Costco.

I honestly doubt it. You can try to purchase one on swappa.com or ebay and have the seller send you the IMEI. Costco Wireless rep only need the IMEI to get the trade-in process started, no physical phone is required.

Are you sure if you could do that, it wouldn't affect the TMobile Rebate for trade-in which was filed against the IMEI of first phone purchased?

Or should the paperwork be re-done? In which case, since I had already ported my number to T-mobile, how would it work for the newer device?
Well here's the thing, he did specifically mention about that the rebate "should" arrive before the 90 days return/exchange period. So judging by that context he's telling me to keep my phone until the rebate card arrives and if I'm still within 90 days (and if they have stock of my desired phone) then I can do the exchange. The previous comment was before me submitting the new phone's IMEI on promo website because everyone was having issues.. I submitted as of today and plan to keep it until my rebate arrives.. my rep said he'd keep me inform if my desired model becomes available.

Thanks for the insight! Guess I should've bought a more expensive variant so I could have gotten the entire $700 cashback - I took the iPhone 11 64Gb for $629.99 which would be the cashback value too. Now, exchange means I'd pay more out of pocket to get the 128gb if it comes back on stock. (even more if the prices go up)

Has anyone managed to successfully 'exchange' the device to a different unit within the same promo period?

well I tried one store they said they were only going to mail it to me unfortunately. Another store only had 64gb versions of the iphone 11, pro, max. They did have green 128 iphone 11s. This was in OC.
So why did you not chose the Pros instead?

can someone please confirm if I can switch to Essentials plan after signing up Magenta. Rep signed me up for Magenta at store and didnt discuss other options. Since I dont need hotspot/netflix, can I still switch to Essentials plan without impacting the rebate ?

I honestly don't have much experience trading in old phones but you might be alright. I would think they're more interested in securing your business as a paying customer for the next two years more than a crappy old phone they're going to sell wholesale to some warehouse in NJ who'll peddle it back on eBay to the next guy who'll take it in for the next trade-in deal and so on and so on.
Anyone know? Type of scuff that looks like it was dropped hard on the corners
