HP is currently selling this for the black friday price.

The specs on this are insane for the price. The next closest laptop that doesn't weigh 10 pounds is the MSI GE75 Raider-655 which costs $3100. You can save another $25 if you dont get the RGB keyboard and $200 if you get the 6 core i-7.

It has been confirmed by multiple sources that this is the 150W full version of the RTX 2080. 6.5 lbs, about 1in thick. Supposedly the power brick is pretty massive though.

Anyone know how the thermals are on this thing? I cant imagine how they can cool these components enough to function at full capacity on a laptop.

Your title say 2080 max-q but in the description you say it's the full version. Which one is it?

This is MAX -- P, not Q

I won't trust HP on any thermal related issue.

This is a $2000 laptop, why do they put 32gb of optane? It should be 32gb of real ram instead of 16gb plus 32gb octane.

Optane boosts the speed of the MAIN storage. it's way faster than any SSD for random i/o.

So your common use apps and games load way faster.

More ram won't help with that.

Ive purchased from HP before a different version of the 17t omen and i dont know about others but it was the worst experience. It took a month to get the laptop i purchased since it was made to order, i did not know that at the time estimated shipping was 1-2 weeks. They changed estimated shiping again at the 2 week mark. It was also shipped from china. It gets worse, came with a massive crack on the corner of the laptop. So pretty much the month wait was a waste of time. Their online customer service is a joke too, they dont have the power to do anything so they give you a number to call the supervisor/manager about your issue then they will figure out if you can get a refund or not. I didnt bother for a exchange due to the long wait. Took about 2.5 weeks to get my money back with the process. Couldve been just me with this experience but just wanted to let you guys know.

Good to know. This will be my first purchase from HP. Hoping for a better experience. Costco will always be my number 1 for laptops, but they dont have anything with these specs, at any price.

Supposedly ship date is two weeks out on this with 3 day shipping time.

I am still scarred from watching the Omen as a 10 year old kid. I'll pass on this one.

ships in december- probably getting this in january.

I would rather trust a ASUS ROG G703 (better thermal) but this HP Omen is a good price.
