The specs of this one are mostly worse than the R6700, but at least it's not as physically huge and maybe power-hungry. Maybe the stock firmware is better here, but that's just a guesstimate.

What's the point of even bothering with dd-wrt over the stock firmware? What's the commercial or personal reasons?
DD-WRT supports the C7 model, and does not seem to support A7 (which is Amazon exclusive due to Alexa integration).

I am using Wavlink now and it works great
I pulled down the files from one of the daily snapshots (e.g. https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-w...her-a7-v5/)
FWIW I used the TP firmware for all of one day and it didn't seem so bad.
Oh and debricking is very easy via TFTP install of the OEM firmware available on the TP site.
