The USB-C cables only support 60w max according to the reviews. Also, they only support USB2.0 speed.
You have to double check the rating. USB-C cords can data transfer at different speeds and can charge at different speeds. (This is on top of having to check what charger you're using)

Reviews and Q/A seem to confirm an upper limit of 60W charging and USB 2.0 data transfer speeds.
If you can live without 100% pure Perfect Surface Silver solid-core conductors, or High-precision Wave Soldering, yes, it should be sufficient. Apple specs the 13" MBP require 61 watts, these are rated for 60, should be fine, provided you already have the proper charging brick.

Also, on the product page, the MacBook (2016)/MacBook Pro 13.3'" is specifically mentioned as a fully compatible device.

Personally, I'd spend a few extra bucks on a USB-IF certified gen 2 type c cable, as a couple dollars would get you 10gbps transfer speed, 100w certified power delivery capability, and the quality assurance provided with the IF certification, which is not just marketing hype, cheap insurance when it comes to supplying power for a $1000+ laptop. also adds thunderbolt 3 support. usb-4 arrives later this year, these things get obsolete fast

I just got my first phone that takes USB-C. Are all these cords the same or is there a type of USB-C that charges faster than another?

True. Hoped USB-C would simplify the USB cable decision process but it seems to be more complex than ever. Shopping for the perfect android auto cable yesterday turned into a five hour rabbit hole that I'll never get back.

All that aside, Anker makes a great cable.Build quality and lifetime guarantee are legit. If you don't need 5 or 10Gbps transfer speed, or 100w USB-C PD 3.0 charging for your laptop, these are not a bad option. Wouldn't put in my Android Auto setup, only because I finally got high res certfied components on every other level, although still no idea if I'd even notice. Paid $13 for a single USB-IF certified type C to 3.0 type A anker cable anyway though just in case. Thought about dropping $140 on an audioquest type c to a but couldn't find evidence it would actually make a difference.

they're nice for convenience in casual use, but anything over 3' does occassionally cause problems in android auto at least.

I have a bunch of these. Good quality cables but do not support QC 3.0. Personally I prefer a slower charge since it's better according to Battery University and these are great for that.
