Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

dunno. but doesn't take much to create pin after creating an account.
Yeah I got Visa cards too and if default PIN is not accepted I need to set PIN for them.

Emailed.. Really.. To whom?
The info is on the thread wiki above. I might call them tomorrow. But it's kind of confusing since I haven't yet reached the 90 day mark.

WM doesnt let you stack GC card for MO more. I juiced the heck out of GCs a year back, but not any more.

I've never ported out of Tracfone. Based on what xfinity says "TracFone. Your account number is the MEID or IMEI serial number on your phone, or the last 15 digits of your BYOP SIM card".

To activate a Tracfone BYOD SIM:
1. Log into your TF account, use ADD DEVICE to add the SIM to your account. This step is optional, but it'll make it easier to manage the SIM, check balance, etc.
2. Click on ACTIVATE on the SIM that you want to activate, select Keep My Number (if you're porting in), provide port-in phone number and acct #, PIN of previous carrier.
3. Once the port-in is completed (log into TF account and check status/messages later if it's not done immediately), put the SIM into your BYOD phone and make test calls/texts, set APN, etc.
I tried creating the account. It seems it won't let me just create the account. It asks me whether I have tracfone or byod...if i select byod then it asks for SIM...if I say I don't have SIM, then it asks me to buy one.....how can I just create the acct first and then add SIM...to the acct as I am ready to port out.

Thx

Try telling it you have a SIM, give it the SIM number and see if it'll let you create an account, then add the SIM to the account. It won't make you activate the SIM until you're ready to do it.

U can get it unlocked even if you don't have service...make sure you keep the same SIM card handy if indeed the phone is locked and u find out later.
This is new to me. So we can still just call Sprint like several months later to get phone unlocked?

That's what I did. Make sure your current bill is paid and you port out before the current service period ends.

Option to create an account comes in later stages of activation, and it is optional, i.e. you can activate a sim without creating an account. Select "byod", "have my own sim", "keep my number", and iirc it will give you that option to create an account.

I saw you were asking for TF account number for port out. For TMo and AT&T sim cards, that would be last 15 digits of the ICCID (underlined part). For Verizon sim, IMEI gets involved. It's easy to convert between the networks within TF, so I would transfer Verizon line to TMo or AT&T before porting out. PIN can be set up through the account, it's the same PIN for all you numbers in that account.

Thanks. So it seems u must activate one sim to create an acct. It won't just let you create an acct and add a sim later for activation. That's how I read your post. Thx again.

If that is the case, yes. Make sure it has the same SIM card...so that it can communicate with Sprint network and get it unlocked...I wouldn't wait that long.
