Sony has Dolby Vision, eARC, USB 3.0. No brainer here for someone utilizing the best in video and audio features.
If you use better video format on lower picture quality screen, you still get lower quality HDR. Sending a DV signal to the 950G will not magically make the low contrast ratio better or make color volume increase.
Netflix, Prime an Hulu use Dolby Digital + for Atmos, so eARC does nothing for majority of people. It is better to stream through Apple 4k TV or Roku Ultra instead of TV anyways.
I have never used a USB connection on a TV ever. Couldnt care less about USB 3.0. You are really trying to find a reason to ignore the better picture quality and VRR that the Q80 provides.

I would say go with Q70 or 900F ans save your $$$.. Some people will justify this TV because the model number "950" is higher than "900"... LOL
I have this set in 75" and it is one of the best TV's I've owned, and i've had some premium sets over the last decade, with the highest picture quality ratings, encompassing the Sony XBR HX909, Panasonic ST60 plasma, and most recently, my OLED LG C7, which I have moved to my bedroom. I love my OLED, but this x950g is absolutely superb in shadow detail, despite not having the deepest blacks...so yes, Dolby Vision on this is friggin amazing, even compared to my OLED.

The main reason to go with Q80 or 950G is is the wide viewing angles. They are great for a VA TV and make a big difference for some people's seating arrangements. The Q80 is also amazing with reflections. So if you have a large living room with a lot of natural light, it will perform significantly better than the Q70. If you have a somewhat dark room and sit in front of your TV, the Q70 is a better choice than the Q80 or 950G.
Its a TV not a car or a house..But I understand what you saying but life has to go on
Get Q7085 or 85x900f for lot less..
Actually, recession times like these are the best time to get killer deals on big purchases, such as cars or houses, for those that can afford it at least.
