Been waiting on this deal to pop back up for a while. Had been considering the GX85 since it has IBIS, but I liked the handling of the G7 a bit more after having a look at both at Best Buy.

I thinks this is a really great deal for the package you get and that it comes from adorama. I had issues with a canon I got a couple of years ago and they were good about getting a replacement out. I have this camera sans mic and truly pleased with it.

I'm camera newbee but how does this compare to like gopro 8 for shoot video? I get the gp8 much smaller easier to carry but as far video quality how does it compare?

Sensor size basically determines how much bokeh or background blur you'll get. It's what gives videos that cinematic look. The GoPro has a tiny sensor, great for action and waterproof stuff, but if you want cinematic videos this is a better choice. You can't shoot handheld though, you'll need a tripod or gimbal or soemthing. Just watch some YouTube videos made with the G7 and decide

It's also bigger and more expensive. The G7 seems to be a good combo of size and quality. Anyone know offhand if it has a mic jack? That was the big downfall with the GX85 which had IBIS but not mic jack. IBIS is somewhat useless since you can't shoot decent video handheld
