Item #1325052
Been looking to replace my Hero 5 Black. Didn't want to spend more for the Hero 8 Black and having to replace almost half of accessories that I have. So decided to look for the Hero 7 Black.
Just a heads up, if you record in 4K for 30 mins with stabilization, it will cap out and shut down bc of overheating.
I love this camera but the random battery drains and the overheating are things GoPro has not fixed at all.
And yes, I'm and using the recommended SD cards from the GoPro sites.
If you can hold off and wait a bit longer for the 8, do it.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great camera when it works. Get great footage doing short stints going down a mountain on a bike, skateboarding down the street or bombing down a mountain on a snowboard.

Isn't the 8 has the non replaceable lens? So better to get the 7
I've owned 3 different GoPro models and they've all died around the 1 year mark with almost no use (basically only on vacations). You'd think they could have gotten reliability down by now.
So you mean like EVERY OTHER GoPro camera ever created?
Don't get me wrong, I own every one (up to the H5b) I'll eventually get an 8, just waiting for the right deal.
My very first GoPro, took to Park City, it lasted <30 seconds on triple-a batteries. The cold zapped it almost instantly. Was told I had to use lithium energizer batteries.
Still have that one too.
I wonder how that OG GoPro would do with Li-Ion batteries these days.
I still have my GoPro H4b and that thing was a workhorse. I never had any issues with it nor did 5 of my other friends who also had it.
If my memory serves me right, the bad batteries on the 7 are usually the ones made in China. The ones made in Vietnam don't drain as much.
One would think GoPro would have figured it out by now.
let's say this GoPro has a similar issue as pidge above (dying around 1 year)...would I be able to return this no questions asked because it's Costco? I know people on here rave about Costco's return policy, but I have no experience with it so any input is appreciated!

They changed their policy because people were abusing it. This has a 90 day return window or you can get an extended warranty with most credit cards.

The random battery drains only happen for me when WiFi or Bluetooth are on. If I won't be shooting for at least a couple of days I pull the battery out anyway.

For me, it was all off. It was pop in a fresh battery, turn on, then off very quickly. That would cause the drain
