Need suggestions for a good pop up canopy

3,942 260 June 6, 2020 at 08:40 AM
Heading to the beach in July and need to get a pop up canopy. I've had the cheap ones you can get from Walmart and Target it they just don't hold up well. I'm wanting one that's relatively lightweight and easy to setup. Looking for suggestions...thanks!

Does the beach offer rentals? I would do that to tell the truth.

Heading to the beach in July makes it sound like you don't live close to one and are planning a "vacation". If this is a one time use item that you don't have use for at other times, you can check with local party rental companies and rent from them instead of the beach rental companies.

Pop up as in the metal frame canopies or the beach shelters?

For the metal frame ones, get a straight leg one. They are heavier and more $$, but also much sturdier and the canopy is larger for the same size as a slant leg (because they advertise slant legs by the dimensions of the footprint, which is around a foot smaller all around at the canopy).

Costco has a 10' commercial one with the sides and a zippered front for $170 on sale, reg $200.

It's similar to this:

They were pimping it for selling at street fairs, or other vendor related activity...

And you get special CA pricing too! lol
