Its a thunderbolt symbol, not a charging symbol. Not only that, but pretty sure this model is on the Project Athena certified list. Guess I'll find out when mine arrives.

Imagine trying to sell a laptop with less than 12GB RAM in the current year.

It may sound silly but I really want to ask. Will a 4K screen on 13" laptop make text unreadable? It will be very small, right?

Yes, it is but you have to compensate that with 200% zoom - 4k on a 17" or 15" laptop is better.

Dunno which picture you're talking about. Agreed, the sixth picture is definitely a TB symbol. As to the second picture, I beg to disagree ... it shows a power symbol over a data connection symbol.

In any case, good luck. I hope you find your port to be a TB!

It is not TB but only USB 3.1 Type C port. If it were TB , the spec under BB should specify that. It is also clarified in the Q&A that it does not have a TB port.

You're preaching to the choir. I'm with you. I posted the Wiki, which shows no TB.

I was responding to someone else's post.

One of the reviewers mentioned it could be a thunderbolt symbol on theirs. Great if it has it. If not, still a good deal considering. Really it would be pretty bizarre not to have it as it would be the only thing keeping it from being Athena certified.

"...I am not sure if the USB-C port is Thunderbolt 3 or not because HP's website doesn't mention it, but there is a lightning bolt icon next to the port on the left side."

I took that poster literally when he said "there is a lightning bolt icon". Indeed, the charge symbol is a lightning bolt ... just not the same symbol as the TB. I didn't press him on the detail, since TB is not a dealbreaker for me. I was satisfied that the USB-C port was a power port.

You maybe able to check the model under Tech Specs. Envy comes up in 4 models - If you click under tech specs in the below link: One of them only comes in FHD and does not have the full speed Thunderbolt Port while the other comes in FHD and 4K and does support the TB3.

None of those four model numbers match the one in the OP (13-AQ1013DX). The closest similar model number, 13-aq1185nr, does not support TB. While this adds more information to the mystery, it doesn't help resolve it.

BTW, I had to look up whether "none" is singular or plural. Sounded plural so I went with the verb "match", instead of "matches", but I didn't know why. Googled it and found out that "none" is singular when referring to a single object, like "None of the apple turned out to be rotten." And it's plural when referring to plural objects, "None of the people were found guilty of complicity in the crime."

And so it is correct to say, "None of those four model numbers match ..." (plural tense) and "I had to look up whether 'none' is singular ..." (singular tense).

English is so confusing. Sorry to digress.

Yes received it today and either folks are wrong or there are two variants. The one I received from this deal does have TB3.
