Acer 4K 32" monitor ET322QK wmiipx $319 @ Newegg

Maybe not cheapest all time, but cheapest right now. I paid $369 for one about 3 months ago.

I own one I use on my work laptop for work from home duties. Good monitor. I haven't done any gaming on it, but 4k/60 should look awesome.

And for the obligatory "eh it's not 144hz", you're right. It's not a competitive FPS gamer monitor. Display type isn't explicitly stated, but the QA says VA panel.

+ $5 shipping

In my experience... don't pay extra for faster shipping from Newegg.

3840 x 2160 Ultra HD 4K Resolution @ 60Hz
4ms (GTG) Response Time
2 x HDMI (2.0), DisplayPort (1.2) Video Inputs
AMD FreeSync reduce tearing and stuttering from graphics card
100% sRGB Color Gamut
Picture-in-Picture, Picture-by-Picture
Built-in 2 Watt Speakers

I think the sale ends Wednesday.

I will say my main gripes are kind of minor. The mini-joystick on the back you use for the OSD is annoying. The speakers are terrible (shocker) but you don't have to use them. Last I would suggest turning OFF "AUTO SOURCE" in the OSD setup to avoid headaches with computers that like to put the display to sleep (ie - my laptop)

AMA I will try to answer.

Anyone have any thoughts on how this stacks up against that $300 4k 32 inch monitor from Sam's Club for productivity stuff? (https://www.samsclub.com/p/lg-uhd...oduct_1_1)

The LG doesn't have PBP which allows you display two inputs side by side. It also may not be VESA mountable.

Neither have height adjustment.

The specs look about the same. I've not personally seen the LG one.

The stand for the Acer isn't great, doesn't adjust much. I use VESA mount.

To be fair, 120hz works well not just for competitive gameplay. If you had an opportunity to use iPad Pro for any purpose, those tablets are running at 120 hz refresh rate. Even if you just to read news, scroll web pages 120 hz vs 60 hz is noticable. Plus, it is not really about competitive gaming. Some just are willing to spend more on higher refresh rate panels and higher nits brightness, and others not

Anyone know what the feature is called for a single monitor that can do a quad display, i.e. "full screen" a video that only takes up 1/4 the display?

I doubt this monitor has that but still tempting. Any 32" 4k under $350 is worth considering from what I've seen.

Any experts or anyone who have tried both monitors know how it compares to this? (I'm not the most knowledgeable on monitors)

Philips 328E1CA 32" Curved Monitor, 4K UHD, 120% sRGB
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VLJPZDR

Both 32" 4K, VESA, VA panels

The biggest difference I see (outside of the obvious curved screen on the Philips) is the PIP/PBP in the acer

Wow, I bought this monitor in Nov 2017 for same price minus a 10% discount. Surprised it hasn't dropped in price. Been a solid monitor for me.

That's PBP (picture by picture) and the Acer has it though it has restrictions (can't do 2 HDMI inputs simultaneously). Google the user manual for details.

How does this compare to LG ultrafines in the price range. For example the 32uk550 that was at a similar price a couple of weeks ago?

Very true. I've owned the first gen pro 12.9 and 2nd gen and it's night and day

Maybe it's noticeable but that doesn't mean 60-75hz is at all detrimental to the user experience for scrolling text. For that reason, work displays will continue to be made with 60 or 75hz refresh.

Nobody says 60 hz is detrimental to one user's experience. It doesn't have to be only competitive gaming on 120 hz and Word processing with 60 hz. What I said is that a 120 hz panel is no longer considered by some people, myself included, to be reserved for competitive gaming only. Just like iPad Pro's 120 hz since 2015 is not reserved for some special tasks for which such higher refresh rate is reserved. Some people are just willing (and before you jump into conclusion, I repeat "willing", it is not a matter of "ability") to pay for a 120 hz or 144 hz panel, 1000 nits, HDR10, etc. and not use it for competitive gaming or any gaming, just like some people enjoy using iPad Pro for any task, including tasks best undertaken with high refresh rate panel and tasks like Word processing.

Edit: such panels (often LG IPS panels) are no longer that pricy as a few years back and are almost comparable to Acer Predator X27 and Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ (both with LG panels). One example that is promises to be good (but is still TBD) Eve Spectrum 27' 4K 750 nits 144 hz IPS panel.
