The $40 Costco Gift Card will be Mailed to you within 4-6 weeks.
You can enroll in auto-renewal at the same time you complete your online redemption if your state requires you pay sales tax. Tax will be listed under Order Summary on the membership checkout page.
If Tax is listed as $0.00 in your Order Summary, you will need to enroll in auto-renewal after redeeming your membership. You may do so under the Membership Details section on your Costco confirmation page or from your Costco Account Details page.
Question:
Sure you will! As long as you've signed up using a Visa card and the auto-renewal is activated on your account, the incentives will be mailed to you with no inconveniences. If you want to verify this you can get in touch with Costco at https://customerservice

edit: Groupon has confirmed in this thread that both the $40 off $250 online code and the $40 Shop Card expire at the end of January.
Also, the Groupon offer itself is available until August 31st.
Remember to sign up at BEGINNING of the month as membership always expires at end of month, 13 for 12.

Using internet explorer helped.
Chrome was useless tbh
I spoke with a lady who cleared my transaction. Did it using IE and it was smooth.

I put in my Visa card and it did not give any option to opt into auto-renew.
I then put in the $60 card code and PIN and bought the membership.
I then went into the account and saw auto-renew was not active, so I entered my Visa number and activated it. Hope this does not screw up the promotions that are supposed to be attached to my account.Guess I have to wait 4-6 weeks to find out.
We have both Costco and Sam's memberships (picked Sam's membership on an offer this year). With the increased variety at Sam's, much cheaper prices and the excellent Scan and Go option, we are thinking not to renew Costco membership this year. It's just a personal preference and not that Costco is bad. We like the selection of products at Sam's better. And cheaper.
For anyone specifically looking for Costco membership, this is a good deal. But if you are on the fence, I would recommend to check out Sam's as well and decide for yourself which is better for you.
Note, limit 2 per size per member.
Available Options

Time to stock up on diaper.
Another place the cult mindset comes in is the belief that Costco fruits, meat and fish are higher grade or freshness. Not true. I've compared them. Their quality is nothing special.
The return policy... same as grocery stores for the most part. A bit better than many stores in terms of length but many stores have 1 month return. Costco does win out in this area however. Extended warranty is a plus but I use my credit cards extended warranty with a long history of success.
Costco is for people that want to buy everything in one trip while putting in little effort and convincing themselves they are getting the best at the best prices. It's a delusion though.
He keeps arguing that Costco provides "lifetime warranty" to electronics.
I thought it was BS and told him it's YMMV and the customer services person is just being nice to you.
So a few months ago I went to Costco with him and he successfully returned his 4-year-old out-of-warranty Roomba with a failed battery.
He claimed that he used Costco's "lifetime warranty" many times in the past and they always honor it.
What gives?
