It's 4 years since receiving the sign up bonus.
You have to wait 4 years since opening the first one before you can get another.
The application date or the card open date doesn't matter. What matters is the date that you received the sign-up bonus. That date is probably the closing date of the statement in which it was awarded to you.

For example, if you met the minimum spend for the sign up bonus in the first month the card was opened, the statement closing date was probably October or November 2016. If you met the minimum spend in the 3rd month that the card was opened, then the bonus may have been awarded in January or even February - again, depends on the statement closing date. You can check your first few statements in that account to know for sure.

Only on Kroger from the list.
1. beware of transactions from Kroger going to pended. Someone there then calls your number to get credit card info including the CSC. Its an inside con job at Kroger (probably bad employee)

2. Kroger purchase for gift card is being coded by Chase as Gift card not grocery.

You can send them a secure message. If they say yes, then you have a written record.
So if it gets coded as Walmart (supermarket) and not grocery, will Walmart deposit points in your Chase account.

What Walmart says in writing is irrelevant. It only matters what Chase says.

As an analogy, you are saying that if you have a problem with your Toyota car you should keep a record of what Shell Gas station committed to in writing about the car.

That's stupid info from the Chase rep.... this is from the Chase referral site I clicked on from my wife's Preferred card. I am not on her card and I only have a Freedom in my name. I want to have her refer me to get the card for 80,000 points and her to get 15,000 points. I'm curious if there is a restriction on referring a spouse or child in the same residence. It will be my own card (she won't be a user on it).

Attachment 9493412
It was accurate information at the time, but Chase later did change referrals to allow the 80k offer.

I applied this Chase Sapphire preferred. I got denied.

I got blacklisted by chase because I do not do anything wrong. Around 2010, I have Chase checking and saving account. One day, Chase called me a bunch of questions. I didn't even know it was Chase because English is my second language. So, I couldn't properly answer all their questions. They want me to open the Business account. I said I don't have any business and do not do any business.

Next day, they closed all my accounts including credit cards and bank accounts. I went to the Branch office and nobody knew why they closed my account. Then, I called Chase's customer service. They do not know/ do not have access why they closed my account. Then, I talked to higher office. They are the same thing. They do not know the answer.

Around 2016, they approved this Sapphire preferred card. Then, 2-3 months later, they closed all my accounts again. They didn't explain to me why they closed my accounts. I asked and called all their customer service and executive offices. Nobody can answer it.

Then, around 2018, I reapplied again. They denied again. They said my Sapphire card is still active. I said I closed it for a very long time ago. They said it was not officially closed yet. They said "they will make sure they closed it today."
Then, I talked to executive office. The guy said their office is the highest level. He said the reason I got denied because "prior's relationship." I said you can review all prior's relationship as you want. I did not do anything wrong at all. I paid my credit card on time and full amount. My balance is always zero balance. I said I want to know why you guys blacklisted me. First, they said they were not allowed to tell me why they closed my account. Then, I kept on asking and they said they do not know the correct answer.

Today, I applied again. I got same answers. They said my card is still active. I said "no, I closed it for a long time. Then, they transferred me to superiors and said they closed it because of "prior's relationship."

At that time, my credit score was over 800. It was very closed to 850.
Today, my credit score is over 770.
I always paid off full amount and on time. My balance is always $0.
I did not owe any money to Chase and make any kind of mistakes or illegal activity.

Did you used to have a WAMU account? If so, a default on that is a default on Chase. Chase pretty much blacklists for life, BTW.

Thank you for your reply and suggestion. Yes, I had WAMU account. After Chase bought WAMU, my WAMU checking and saving account became Chase checking and saving account. I NEVER have default on any credit cards at all. I paid all my credit cards on time and full amount. I kept zero balance on all my credit cards.

Well, Chase only blacklists when someone has done something they deem undesirable. Churning, closing accounts too quickly, manufactured spending etc.

No, I didn't do manufactured spending or anything at all.

The only thing I can think about it is sometimes I went to Chase and asked $10 fees to waive for a cashier check since I knew the manager who was working at Chase. It was not a lot. It was less than 10 cashier checks for over 2 years. But, one cashier check at a time. I do not want to pay $10 and I want to save that $10 because I was a student at that time.

Then, they wanted me to open a business account. I said I am a student and I don't have any business.

Sorry to hear that.

Chase, or any banks in town has the discretion to close any accounts for any reason. No reasons needs to be be given to the consumer.

If you visit flyertalk forum, you will see tons of this been discussed. Even those with substantial balances. There are people who held tens and thousands of miles/points and got closed down.

we have accounts from 3 -4 banks prior wamu, became wamu, then got converted to chase, so far so good.

5/24 means you applied and got approved for any 5 cards in 24 months.

Can spouses combine points from independent chase cards? One has premium and the other not.
