For everyone who keeps questioning the warranty information:

The boxes in the warehouse have an additional packet of warranty information attached to the boxes. (At least they do here locally.)

So even though the box is printed with a 3-year warranty on it, the additional information explains the extension of the 3 year warranty to 5 years.

(And yes, if you use the Costco Visa credit card, that tacks on an additional 2 years, making it 7 years total.)

Hope this helps clarify things a bit...

Sony's pushing it as part of their "PS5 Ready" series and is actually one of the few TV's capable of gaming 4K at 120 Frames...however this tv will not do it out the box until a firmware update Sony has yet to push. It's assumed they'll do it closer to PS5 launch Source: https://www.techradar.com/news/sony-ps5-ready-tv

I mean you bought this way back in July. So you've enjoyed this TV for about 2 months while others patiently waited. Maybe just go to Costco and see if they will price adjust without all the hassles of returning. Cause you returning will just cause your TV to get sent back to Sony and they will then have to sell it as refurbished and then reship it somewhere else to sell. The carbon footprint of all this is huge.

I really doubt there will be shortages.
There is a limit 3 and it is SUPPOSED to be a month-long sale, not a short term special. And rumored to be the same price at other stores.
Stock might be an issue for discontinued models, but there is no indication this will be discontinued this unusually soon in its life.
Warehouses with few in stock now may be getting more stock for this sale soon. But for the same price, why would you even want to buy it instore instead of getting it delivered?

I talked to my friend that works at Costco. The 5 year warranty is from Sony. It kicks in Wednesday so if you buy it today you can get a price adjustment but not those extra two years warranty unless bought during sale.

There is 40 of them at another store around me so I think I'll be fine for Wednesday. Also the sale online would be at midnight since headquarters are on the west coast.
Thanks for passing along the insider info.

Interesting that it is a special Sony warranty deal as the box at Costco has "3 Year Warranty" right on the top of the box. They would need to inform the people to somehow register online to get an extra 2 years of warranty or else people wouldn't know from the product itself.

So when adding in the Costco Citi Visa, that brings the warranty to 7 years.

Anyone out there looking to add another 3 years with Square Trade to get it to 10 years? Assuming that's an overkilled for depreciating electronics...

Just search for "tabletop tv stands" at Amazon or other retailers. There are so many choices of pedestal models that you can find what you need from $30-$50. Most have swivel and are fully adjustable and all look very easy to install.

Also, I did see two versions of tabletop stands on the shelves at Menard's, a Midwestern big box store.
I appreciate the suggestion, but I don't think I'm comfortable using a 3rd party stand to support a $1,000+ TV, especially when the few I looked up don't mention covering the cost of a damaged TV in the warranty description should their product fail.

Sony TV quality and durability has gone down a lot over the years, but at least if they keep dropping prices like this, we can't complain too much. Are we approaching disposable 4K XBR TVs?
That started when they decided to branch out their TV division.

Also....Credenza style TV stands as well as table top TV stand with temper glass bases and shelves have been know to explode for no reason.
Sending the TV crashing down.
This is occurring with other items that contain temper glass.

I guess a potential shipping delay; and you want the TV right away would be a club visit purchase reason.

Do these newer models have the same operating system crashes that I had with the 65 950g? Waiting on my replacement from Sony now but not optimistic.

I actually bought the SquareTrade warranty with this set when I bought it on Saturday with my Costco VISA so as it stands how much warranty do I have? Three years manufacture's, 2 years Citi card and three years SquareTrade? Or does the SquareTrade add protection if my 4 and a half year uses the TV as a dartboard in those first three years? (That being a necessary protection if that's the case).
You have 7 years of warranty with the benefits of the SquareTrade protection on years 3-5. So, you are double covered during year 3 according to this link:

Does this tv especially in the 65" suffer from DSE/Banding? For sports this is really distracting when panning.

That appears to be the main complaint I've read in my hours of research. I'm 90% sure I'm going to buy this TV but if mine has banding issues I'll be taking it back bc I primarily watch golf, football, and basketball. Golf is the worst to view with any banding.

I am using a family member's membership to get this with my own payment info. Will there be an issue for returns or future warranty claims?

Agree. If I can find one with little DSE, then it's a good buy for a secondary room TV.
