Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

I think you get $83 as instant credit with the remaining as monthly bill credit ($500 - $83) = $417/24 = $17.38 as a bill credit. The phone is $29.17 - 17.38 = $11.79 is what the monthly charge is. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes, that is correct, but I want to have it in writing when I complete my order for the extra $417/24 months. Right now, it is just showing the $83 tradein value and I am not taking that chance.

I clicked on the OPs link and signed in. It directed me to my Sprint log in and had me select my device to upgrade. I selected my LG V40 line. I'm wondering if it's working on the Sprint side but not Tmobile side at the moment.

Im originally a Sprint customer prior to the merger.
Possibly. It is not working for me, as a Tmobile customer, yet.

I've attempted to trade in an iPhone 6s and the value is $14. Does that mean I'll get $486/24 which is $20.25 month credit?
In the mean time, if I trade in a Samsung S9, I'll get the same $500 credit minus the trade-in value, right?

6s isn't eligible for this promo, but yes for the S9.

It doesn't say, it allows me to go through to check out as an upgrade and no add on line required.

By the way this is a slick deal because the $500 off applies to all the new Samsung phones like flip, note, s20 ultra, etc... and not just the FE

I don't see 6s as an elegible trade in for this offer so you will just get the $14 and no bill credits...find out from T-Mobile to confirm though

Here's what T-Force told me via Facebook. I'm sure they'll honor it in the end if I have it in writing like this, but really strange there's no mention of it.

---
The $500 for your trade is a promotion that we're running that is not part of our normal upgrade process. So, essentially, $23 is what you'll get as an upfront bill credit once we receive your trade-in. This is called the "fair market value" and is what you would be receiving under any other circumstances. Because your S7 qualifies for this offer as long as it's damage free, you'll be getting the additional $477 as monthly bill credits that offset the cost of your new phone. Smilie So, it's normal that you won't see any part of the promotion when you purchase your phone online, we actually see the exact same thing on our end. But the promotion is then applied within 1-2 billing cycles. Let me know if you have any other questions about that process or the promotion, T-Force is here for you
---

I'm also confused because earlier someone posted this

Can I get $500 off an S20 5G for my S7? I think I would go for an S20 5G for $300 over the S20 FE for free based on the smaller size being preferable to me. But on the T-Mobile page for the S20 5G, it's very clear that the S7 only brings $300 in trade-in.

So can anyone please confirm that a new line is not required for the S20 FE deal. T-Mobile website clearly says that a new line is needed and a trade in is needed for $500 off.

It appears that $500 trade-in credit is applicable to all 5G devices, however, trade-in conditions are different for all devices. I wonder even with S20 FE, final/max value for S7 would be $300 and not $500

T& C for Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

See how to get $500 off this phone with trade-in.
How to get this offer
Purchase a new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G on a monthly payment plan.
Trade in a qualifying device in good condition:

Get $500 back when you trade in:
Apple: iPhone 11, X, XR, XS, XS Max (any variant)
Samsung: Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series
Google: Pixel 4, Pixel 4XL
OnePlus: 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 8, 8 Pro
LG: V60 ThinQ
Get $300 back when you trade in:
Apple: iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus (any variant)
Samsung: Galaxy S7 series, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8
Google: Pixel 3A, Pixel 3A XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL
OnePlus: 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ
You'll receive a trade-in credit based on the fair market value of your trade-in device. If you trade-in at a store, you'll receive your trade-in credit instantly. If you send us your qualifying trade in within 30 days of receiving your new Samsung Galaxy phone, you'll receive your trade-in credit on your bill within two bill cycles after your trade-in is received.
Receive 24 monthly bill credits.
We'll apply the balance of your promotion by crediting your bill each month. If you cancel wireless service, credits may stop & remaining balance on required finance agreement may be due.

For all the people wanting the link, in writing, that it doesn't require a new line and you will get the initial trade in as instant credit and the balance as billing credits, that info is here. https://www.t-mobile.com/content/...00off.html

Well that certainly clears things up. My S7 would bring a $500 trade in for any of the phones listed.

Now I need to decide if I want an S20 5G for $300 or S20 5G FE for free after the trade-in and hook up.
