Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

For plans with $10 add-a-line, like Simple Choice, does it make any sense to pay $200 out of pocket + S7 which is about $80-100, totalling about $300 for the FE?
If I add a line, that's $240 (+ tax) over 24 months, similar cost to the trade-in deal, FE is free and at least you get another line this way.

Let me know if I am missing anything.

Mine shows up in my UPS my choice account now for a 9/30 delivery to Los Angeles. Twitter chat gave me free overnight shipping since the website was having issues at the time. Waived the $20 fee too.

I just finished the pre-order with a representative over the phone, everything went smooth, upgrade fee waived and free overnight shipping. Now I have a question about the type 3 hook up code.

Do I have to obtain and activate(or pre-register)a type 3 hook up code on the insider link by 09/30, then go back and enter the IMEI when I get the S20 FE in October?

Or I can just wait until I get the phone in October, then go to the Insider link and do everything at once?

Thank you very much!!

My UPS My Choice just updated as well. Scheduled delivery to NY on 9/30 via UPS Ground, since I was too cheap to pay for expedited shipping. LMAO

You can do it online, just select a trade in when prompted.

Thanks!

Doesn't seem to be any confirmation on the page when checking out. Is there any way to verify?

Also, any reason people are doing it over chat / phone instead of online?

You have to redeem through the Samsung app on the phone I believe.

The webpage was glitching out when I was trying to order so that's why I ordered over Twitter.

Not sure about the confirmation but it will be on your order status page after you place the order. That's where you will print the label for sending in your trade in.

Does it come with a screen protector installed?
And how many days do we have to mail in the phones to TM?

Are you just looking at your order status on T-Mobile? My status hasn't changed on T-Mobile, but it's showing up on UPS under my account (UPS My Choice account).
