Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

I still have 7 months in bill credits on my Pixel 3A they told me. So I'd lose out on ~$117. I got a hookup code so it should only cost me the $117 if I pay it off and trade it in. Seems worth it, but the Pixel is still going strong. Any thoughts on what I should do?
you should be fine as long as the offer is different. I have multiple lines with multiple bill credits on each.

You shouldn't be losing the $117 in bill credits. You only lose the bill credits if you're closing out the line. Maybe if you're using the same line for another promo they make you lose the bill credits? Not sure, but if so can you choose a different line to put this s20 fe on? I know if you're not closing out the line you shouldn't be losing the credits
Well I think the issue is that I'd be trading in the old phone. The Pixel 3A qualifies for the $500 credit. So if I want to trade that in, my understanding is that I have to eat the $117 to pay it off outright. At least, that's what I understood from the rep.

Nope that rep is wrong then. I'd speak to another one so you get it in writing but basically you'll need to pay off what's owed on the phone then you'll own the phone out right. Then as long as you're not cancelling the line that the phone was getting the credits on, you'll still get the remaining credits 100%

I just got this for 50% off and did the free line promo. Rep confirmed I'd get the phone and line for a total of roughly 11 a month I think.
Did you need to trade in a phone?

I was going to trade in my S9+ but I've decided to just buy a used S7 and trade that in instead. Is it too late to switch if I've already completed my pre-order or can I just send the S7 in as my trade-in instead of the S9+?

yes its too late, you will have to cancel and create a new order. NOT worth it imo unless you really wanted to keep the s9. Just be careful with those used phones on ebay/facebook. Make sure to check for the water mark indicators. Most of the time when Ive bought old used phones, I found that those water damage indicators are definitely tripped - so you would get denied the trade in

I realize this is a longshot, but is anyone willing to DM me a Type 3 Hookup code? I'm trying all the other recommended ways also, but no luck so far. If I get more than one, I'll come back and post the unused ones in here.

If my back has a crack (not front glass, but the back)... Would they accept the trade in still? The crack kinda curve around the back. Not a deep crack.

Hello, I hope you're well.

I posted a guide 4 days ago when this thread was still young and before the promotion went live. I am still seeing confusion and questions, so I am reposting it now and hopefully it isn't seen as spam.

Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity.
