Released in 2017. I would go with something more recent.

The M9's sell at Costco regularly for $199. Even though they are better, they still aren't meeting my needs and I think I'm sending them back.

FYI. Xfinity will charge you a hefty amount beyond 1229GB data usage. The Deco app does not have a feature to see device wise data usage. Most competitors do have it.

I've had these for a few years. Just upgraded my internet to gigabit fiber and realizing I need to upgrade. There is no dedicated backhaul channel so the MB/s loss is significant in a 3k sqft home. When we had 150 mb service, these were more than sufficient. In the farthest point in my house from the router I would average 50 mb/s on my previous service. On the GB service, I can only get 75ish at the furthest point. Right next to the main router, I can get 600+.

Anyone know if this will help unlock the speeds I'm paying for. Have the new Comcast xfinity gateway paying for gigabit and see at most 100mbps on a good day. We bought the xfi pods which mean you can't separate out dial channel with 2.4 & 5 , and they haven't helped at all. Trying to find out how to get the best speed

After returning a nighthawk router and then a nighthawk mesh system, Have had the M9 set for awhile now. Have worked great. Coverage is great on all 3 floors and outdoors past the patio and garage. Much happier with the TP link than the Netgear Nighthawk WiFi 6 systems. They had horrible connectivity issues and range for us.

I got M9 from Costco. They cover my 6500sqft lot home with no dead spots. Absolutely superb. Not sure what is needed more. May be a 10000sqft lot home??
We just got the Costco set last week and are super happy with it so far. Very easy to set up and great speeds throughout both floors of the house.

What kinda speeds are you guys getting on these?
I am getting close to my advertised speeds from Comcast. I pay for 150mb down and receiving around 144mb on average. The key is proper placement throughout. I am in a two story home and just have one of three access point upstairs. Just finished a speed test upstairs on my wireless desktop and getting 110.06mb from Speedtest.net and 104.2mb from Xfinity speed test. I have had the M5's for almost 2 years without issues. Happy camper here. Smilie

No idea between M9 and M5, but adding an M9 mesh to my R7500v2 network made it much more stable. Why? No clue. Couldn't replace the R7500s, as had the same intermittent problems, but both works.

Compare to nokia beacon 1 that was on front page?

I was wondering if anyone can comment on this also, comparing this to a recent nokia beacon 1 (3 piece) deal? : https://slickdeals.net/f/14366021-nokia-wifi-beacon-1-high-performance-whole-home-wifi-mesh-system-replaces-your-existing-router-3-pack-138-12

Did your home work for you guys, so your welcome. The M5 is slightly better than the Nokia Beacon 1's. Per the results of the PCMAG reviews on both which I will list. They are both dual band, but the Nokia is missing features such as parental controls, built in anti virus, and QoS adjustments.

The Beacons are slightly faster within 10 feet of the device like 20-30Mbps, but at about 30 feet the M5's are actually slightly faster 20-30Mbps (wash) so if you have more things further away you will get better speeds with the M5's.

Counting the missing feature set and the faster speeds at a distance which I think is more important than same room results I give it to the M5.

BTW I hate to even say that since I am a Nokia shareholder, but their higher end beacons are excellent pieces of technology, the beacon 1's are just on par/average with most other products on the shelves. Still to be fair M5's are the winner in my book.

Because now the M9 is acting as your access points, while your router is handling all the routing. These devices always see an increase in performance when you use them as AP's only instead of mesh, but the manufactures do say you lose some smart features when you make them act as AP's only.

My router has lately been messing up and with myself and the Mrs working from home and the kids doing "distance learning" have been thinking of getting a new mesh system but it seems like it's a lot more complicated from back in the day when a Linksys WRT54GL was a good solution ( that thing almost NEVER had an issue) and I honestly knew WTH I was talking about. We stream all our TV but don't have 10 devices on at once (5 would be the most for us).

I currently have some TP-Link ethernet over power adapters and they work well to get internet to the other side of the house (where it's outputted to a Linksys router that still works well) but we've got a 3,000 sq ft ranch house and need internet throughout, even in to the garage where we have some connected devices (so that's like another 1,000 sq ft). I'm wondering if a 3-pk is even enough as I recall claims of 200 ft but throw in a wall or two and it's like 50 ft.

Costco has the Google nest 4-pk or Linksys Velop for $400 but that seems like a lot compared to the 3-pk M9 from Costco for $200 (we only have 2 routers currently but there are definitely some "not so great zones"). I don't need all the home automation crap, I just need consistent wifi throughout my house so I can access the internet and ideally print from anywhere (as currently I can only print when on one wifi connection). What's the best (coverage/cost effective) solution? Get the M9 TP-Link from Costco for $200 and if I decide I need it get an additional M9 (although it doesn't seem like I can buy just 1 anywhere for a reasonable amount of $)?

I do move through the house a lot, and frankly would more if I could, so I don't want to drop as I walk through zones (which admittedly is an issue now as I have to drop everything and reconnect from the other router on the other side depending on where I am). I did once, a long time ago, have a portable TP-Link router for use when I traveled a lot and didn't want to pay ridiculous hotel fees of $20 per device per F'ing night (which thankfully seem to long be over), but their customer service did seem to majorly suck as I had a couple issues. I'm fairly competent, well at least as of 8-10 years ago, but if there is an issue I would like to get some help from someone who can hopefully provide it.

Just want something that works well for a good price that will allow some seamless mobility and the support to back it up should I need help.
Thats a tall order you have there. Man WRT54GL, lol that was a grand daddy, one of the first few solid wireless G routers after the standard came out, some say best G router ever. It was launched almost 15 years ago now so a little older than your 10 year time estimate, time flys, lol.

What kind of ISP speeds do you have and if you want I can give you some suggestions, I already have an idea just making sure they fit your ISP speeds?
