AT&T website is showing $160/mo + taxes & fees for 4 lines or $40/mo per line for the Unlimited Extra.

Thanks for these details. That is not so bad comparatively for 4 lines migrated over to AT&T. One more quest if someone may know:

I am currently on Cricket wireless prepaid plan and wanted to find out if my 4 lines will be eligile to migrate into the eligible AT&T's postpaid unlimited plan. Please note that Cricket wireless uses AT&T network. Thanks.

AT&T - no $100 Shop card, pay $30 activation fee
Costco - receive $100 Shop card, No activation fee
Difference of $130/ line × 4 lines = $520

Agreed. With meI am just upgrading. So $50. I have no idea why AT and T makes these things so convoluted. The nightmares that many have read about misunderstood facts after trade in, bill changes not reflected for 3 months, restocking fees.

Currently I am with ATT with 4 lines. Paying $185 on unlimited plan include Tax all fees plus 18% corporate discount on primary line. If I move to TMobile with 4lines Magenta plan I be paying only $140 per month. Only thing stoping me doing this is there trade in values for iphone 8 is too low as compare to Att. I have 3 iphone and one Android to trade in.

Or wait for BF to get better deal.

Wife's phone had a broken screen, Got it replaced by a local screen repair facility, I believe it's an aftermarket screen will that cause them to reject it? Or as long as it's not cracked will it be OK?

I wonder if Costco will take the trade-in device in store or if you have to mail it in. After all of the horror stories with AT&T mail-in trades I'd like to avoid that.

Edit: looks like you have to mail it in. Ugh
Can't we go to the nearest AT&T store and trade-in the device instead of mailing ?

Varies from 3rd party AT&T authorized resellers. I stopped by an AT&T corporate store yesterday and was told that I need to follow whatever Costco or Best Buy is offering for trade-in; so if they say you need to mail it, you'll need to do that... But take it with a grain of salt.

I decided to go through AT&T Authorized Retailer store and bought the phone and traded in on the spot instead of taking the risk going through Costco route. Only thing I loose is the $50 Costco GC. I already got the upgrade (activation) fee waived via online chat last night.

This deal is a joke, 30 months for a $1000 phone and I have to sign up for unlimited plan. ATT hurting so bad, they have to justify to their share holder "Look we can retain Customer's by their cojones by giving them and aggressive deal then out competition" since we are loosing all the billion or dollars in our stupid buy outs. (Direct TV & Time Warner Media) oh plus we'll throw in HBO max for our "HIGHER" Plans. GTFOH...

i have an iphone 7 plus but in order to use the $800 credit, I'm thinking of getting a good condition used iphone 8 (costs about $250). Then, I can sell the 7 plus for whatever it can bring.

Is there anything that could go wrong with this strategy? Did anyone do something similar?

Make sure to buy iPhone 8 which is grade A other wise if there are any moderates scratches on the screen or dents on the back or sides of the phone there are higher chances it will get only $350 credit. Even $350 credit is good but $800 credit is lot more better.
