I just purchased this water heater, normally $1299, for $799 + tax + $75 shipping.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rheem.../312742081

Steps to get deal:
1) Go to above link
2) Change store to zip code 15010(Edit: use Zip 97322 for $699 instead of $799)
3) Select Ship to Home (unless you happen to live close to this store), add to cart.
4) Check out.

Additional notes:
1) Federal tax credit of $300. State tax credits vary, in my home state we get an additional $400 (bringing this heater down to $99 + $75 shipping + tax).
2) For many/most, the $75 shipping is worth it even if you can get this price locally as these heaters are quite heavy and supposedly must be transported vertically.
3) Do your homework on these hybrid heaters before purchasing. You need 220V to operate. Installation expense is generally much higher with hybrid electric vs standard electric resistance heaters and gas heaters. Hot water recovery is very slow (but you can switch to standard electric mode for rapid recovery when you know your usage will be high, e.g. having company over). They can apparently be loud, so if this will be located close to a bedroom, important to think about. There are important climate and installation location factors to consider--just google.
4) The newest generation of this series from Rheem, called "Proterra" can be had for $1269, a slight discount compared to full price (15% for my location). After carefully examining specs, photos, etc - it seems that the only difference with the Proterra series is built-in leak detection with auto-shutoff. FYI if that feature is important to you, you can add it for $219:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rheem...513?NCNI-5
5) This is for 50 gallon. Looks like if you need 65 gal or 80 gal, the Proterra is actually on sale (whereas the Performance Platinum is full price), making the Proterra cheaper.

Unable to replicate this, tried various zip codes. Seems to be officially dead. Does anyone still have any luck getting this at $699?
Not that it will help you but try putting in 45449 as the delivery address. 97322 for the "your shopping" location.

My successful order flow was to select local delivery in the provided zip code, then checkout - it pops up to ask you to confirm delivery zip code, and I changed it there to my real one. The price stayed the same and it's coming from my local HD
I can still get it added to the cart at the lower price, but when I checkout and change my zip code to my real one it gives an error saying it's out of stock

Unfortunately that probably means you're out of luck - I think it worked for me because my local HD had one

In Maine this is 49 dollars plus tax. 750 dollar rebate and 300 federal for a total of 1050. Showing as 1099 on my local Home Depot.

Was so on the fence with this but the recent posts of not able to replicate pushed me over to buy. Followed the op directions and was able to buy and have it shipped for 79 extra.

The PUD $500 is an instant rebate, hence the price reflects the $500 off because of the rebate. So theres definitely a YMMV for double dipping on that rebate.
Yes, I noticed that too. Its part of the total price. So it's taking the $500 off at the top I think.
I thought you could request the rebate after purchase making this a real SD but I guess not.
The price of $1200 (rd) - $500 (instant rebate) = $800 (rd). rd=rounded.
So total price is $800 plus with tax and delivery.
When filling taxes, you can get an additional $300 tax credit. That's it in a nutshell.

I think these hybrid heaters make a lot of sense for anyone using regular electric or propane, they pay for themselves in savings. I have the Rheem 80 gallon (it is quite big).

I was able to get the deal, $832.52 with tax and delivery. The $300 rebate makes it well worth it. Hopefully I will get it without a lot of trouble. Now to find a plumber to install it. Repd.

Any chance you can tell me the order of what you clicked when you follow OP's link? I can get the price to show using 97322 but it readjusts to full price when I go to checkout.

Did it all through the home depot app.I will attempt to remember the steps. Changed my zip to 97322. Added to cart. Asked me to verify zip. Entered my zip in AZ. Checkout with PayPal using Chase card. I think that was it.

That's a steal compare to what others are quoting for install. So the federal rebate is standard but I believe any local rebates through utility provides usually need the install to be performed by a licensed plumber. Might not be worth it as their install price will be much higher. Good luck with the water heater and thanks again for the tip to try the app.

Thanks for the deal. I was able to get in on it. Do you have any links to the rebate or suggestions where to find them? Do I need a licensed plumber to install the heater to be qualified for the rebate?

Installation question: did everyone else's unit have very small gauge wire red/black under the panel on top? Seems way too small to attach 10AWG to. I've never seen wires this thin in a water heater before.

Edit: the correct bigger wires were pushed down in the electrical box where they couldn't be seen. Maybe the thin wires have something to do with the CTA adapter?
