Hello fellow Loungers!
Since there's interest to continue a long standing tradition of the SD Lounge Secret Santa, and nobody else is crazy enough to run it this year, I decided to step up and run things. I hope I do as good a job as others have done in the past!
If you're interested in participating, please post in this thread.
Since I know this is getting off the ground late, I'll keep signups open until 11/30. That gives you all two weeks to sign up, get your questionnaires filled out, etc. Don't delay so I can get names assigned.
The rules:
1. You must have been a SD member for at least 6 months with at least 1000 posts or 100 reps to participate. Sorry n00bs.
2. If you participate, you must send a gift to your assigned person. Don't be that guy that ruins the fun for the rest!
3. Please fill out your questionnaire as completely as possible! Being cryptic just makes it harder for your SS to shop for you.
4. There will be a $25 limit for purchases, plus any applicable shipping charges. We're slickdealers - we know how to find some bargains. Use the site to your advantage!
5. Please ship your gifts no later than December 15 to hopefully ensure Christmas delivery. I realize that's a tight window to shop, but we can do it!
6. When you ship, please use a service that has tracking (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc), and please PM me the tracking number after you've shipped you gift. If you send items directly from a vendor such as Amazon, that's fine, just again please PM me tracking numbers.
7. After you have signed up, please PM me the address where you want your gifts shipped.
8. Wrapping your gifts to your SS is optional.
9. These are different times this year. Remember to shop and ship as safely as possible!
10. Please PM me when you have received your gifts so I can ensure everyone got theirs!
11. If you will be unable to ship by Dec 15, please PM me as soon as possible.

And yes I know they are struggling at the PO. between many coming down with COVID and more people sending things since they can't go visit... but to still be sitting in the same building 8 days later?

Right?!! Well, if my SS gets their gift in 2021, at least it might be a happy way to start off the new year with a box of goodies!

Yeah, I think some things are not being scanned properly. But things are really backed up too. It's a big mess.
I saw this photo on Reddit today
I sent out a package of Christmas cards to the Santa Claus post office (it's about 45 minutes away) to get their special Santa Claus postmark earlier this week and according to the tracking, it hasn't left my city processing facility yet
I have to ship a gift out tomorrow and it is required to go through USPS (it's through the Operation Santa program that USPS runs) and I just know there's no way it's getting there before Christmas. It makes me sad but I guess if I had received more gifts a couple days after Christmas in addition to what I got on Christmas when I was a kid, I probably would have been happy so I guess it's not that bad.
I really hope everyone gets their gifts by Christmas.
That is a great point, and now that I think about it, I would have liked that too!
Maybe next year we should just all meet at a Chick-Fil-A drive thru and exchange gifts there. They'd have it done in 90 seconds or less.
