I've been on the 8gb + 17gb walmart/At&t Prepaid plan for over a year and it looks like they're still offering it. 25gb of full speed data with hotspot for $40.00 per month is still a pretty good deal. Ya just need to purchase a cheap prepaid phone from them. I actually ended up returning mine after I got the 17gb bonus data.

Verizon Prepaid is heavily deprioritized in crowded areas.

These look like decent, single-month commitment options without much hoops to jump through. But I agree the Walmart plan is better at $40 and even the yearly $300 ($25/month) is better for the lowest price; that $300/year is 8 GB plus rollover and tethering. The catch is that you need to port in and have to commit for the year. My wife just renewed her yearly plan for the same price.

Yep, I was going to say I've had VZ $40/month for 15GB for a while now and I think $5 off w/ autopay. I downgraded wife's line to 5GB plan for $25 as we never leave the house these days. I do wish they have a cheap plan to finally bring over my mom's line which is still on Xfinity mobile 1GB a month for $15.xx all in.

This isn't bad, and AT&T coverage is good, but Verizon prepaid is only $25/month for unlimited talk, text, and 5GB of data after 9 months, with autopay. The plan starts at $40, with $5 off for setting up autopay, then $5 off per month at the 3 month mark, and another $5/month at the 9 month mark. That seems like the best deal to me, at the moment, for one line.

Thanks. Looks like it is only available for new lines. I already have a prepaid line. It doesn't seem to let me switch to yearly plans.
Call them. They will do it.

Much better. Cricket caps the download speed at 8 Mbps. No capping at AT&T prepaid. I consistently get 40 Mbps or more, sometimes it is speedy than my WiFi. Upload I get about 10 Mbps and not very stable. It varies, sometimes it's below 6 Mbps.

Wondering the same.
Yes, you can. You have to go to a brick-and-mortar At&T store (a corporate store, not an independent authorized reseller) and ask them to do so.

I had a pre-paid plan and my parents were on an expensive prepaid plan. The three of us went to the store and it took about 60 minutes. I brought two new phones with us and activated their new phones in the store.

Plus you get international coverage right? Is the pricing that much worse? I have 4 lines unlimited everything for 100 right now with cricket

Cricket's website, chat feature, and payment setup are better, but AT&T Prepaid I've had decent success getting to an agent via phone support.

Cricket has better deals with port-in and you can often get numbers off of eBay to get future port-in deals, sometimes on the same account, which is a nice discount.

As for service, both are owned by at&t and I get decent coverage. At&t Prepaid doesn't have throttling until you hit the data limit and it allows tethering without paying extra. Cricket also restricts wifi calling and VoLTE to iPhones and cricket-branded Android phones, while at&t Prepaid allows several unlocked models to at least have VoLTE (i.e. OnePlus 7T) or both (i.e. recent pixels).

I have that... My data speeds got worse and worse. Cant even hit 0.5mbps in a bigger city. About to switch back to ATT now they have a similar deal.

Switch to AT&T PREPAID

Here's what to know. Make sure that:
Your current AT&T wireless account has been active for at least 30 days
Your account isn't past due
Your current wireless bill isn't combined with another service, like DIRECTV or AT&T Internet
Your current line isn't on a business account

Good to know:
You can't switch to AT&T PREPAID during the 2 days before or the 4 days after your bill period ends. That's when we calculate your usage for the month.
AT&T PREPAID accounts can't be tax exempt.

You're not locked into 1 yr so you get less I guess.
Quick question. Is that an 8GB plan is for a whole year or 8 GB each month?
