The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

Have magenta 2 paid lines. Current SOC is eligible. However, been considering upgrading to the magenta plus. Would that change the SOC? Do you guys think I should upgrade now and add the new line tomorrow. Or add the line tomorrow, set up the number. And then change the account to magenta plus? Does it matter?

I'm not trying to be mean but It looks like you didn't even read the main post. The answer of this question is there. Also, many users have already answered so use the search function if needed. Yes it can be combined with the $200 from costco.
Ooops! I didn't see that in the wiki and I'm on mobile so I couldn't search Smilie

It should've. If I were in your shoes, I'd talk to T-Mobile help (chat, call, message on Twitter/FB) and see if they can fix the problem or if there's an explanation why your line didn't get data on it.
thanks, chatted and got it fixed. Applause

# 1: GV number maybe an issue, also, I doubt, you can double dip $200 from Costco and $100 from TM.
Quote from gaijinexpat :
Current T-Mobile One subscriber with a qualifying account.

Alright, so I've followed this and some other threads for a while. Sorting through everything, this is my gameplan:

1) Unlock my GV number today (-$3)
2) Tomorrow, BYOD at Costco using a spare phone and porting the GV number (+$200)
3) Submit rebate for porting a line (+$100)
4) Verify that T-Mobile automatically treated the new/ported line as free.
5) Swap existing "paid" line with new "free" line
6) Cancel new "paid" lne after 1 year (assuming I don't need it}

Best outcome is that I make $297 (200+100-3)

Worst outcome is if #3 & 4 do not happen. In that case, I cancel the new line after I receive the Costco Shop Card which will cost me ~$60 for 3 months. Net is that I still make $137 (200-60-3).

Am I missing anything?

"May not be combinable with some offers or discounts" that is the fine print on all the deals T-Mobile has on phones was with T-Force for 1-hour with a different person each time, all of them said YOU CANNOT STACK the "free line on us deal" with any other phone deals.

So I guess we can go for the rebate card for porting our numbers!!
wait so I can't combine with the pixel 4a deal?

I hope the website will show a confirmation otherwise I have issues with trusting tmobile's promised promotions based on past experience. Honestly I don't even trust what customer support says nowadays unless I see it on the website because in the past they have been wrong about 80% of the time.
Having a career in landline & wireless call centers, I promise you some reps will misrepresent the deal, which sometimes leaves callers "shipwrecked".

Hi All, apologies over 500 comments so hard to check all this. If I port in a number from google voice or ebayyy AT&T port and port that number over tomorrow, do I get anything extra? Alternatively I may have an old phone laying around that is not connected. Is that a better route for any reason? Thanks

I am on SCUTTF4 Simple choice plan with 4 lines. It looks like I am not eligible for the Free add a line promotion. Is this true? Can someone confirm?

Anyone in the same boat?
