I'm trying to move my wife from her family plan onto my family plan. Both on tmobile. Would I be able to use this to effectively add her for free? Or does it have to be a new number?
Maybe you could port her number out to a different carrier then port it on to the free line after adding the free line to your plan.

Edit - Didnt see the reply above.

Not sure what all the acronyms mean here. What would be the best deal for someone coming over from ATT? 3 lines? Thanks.

What if I buy Galaxy A71 5G unlocked from Samsung and port-in to the new line, will that work? Hope this is not considered stacking! Any ideas?

I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing. I just requested her number to be ported to a Google Voice account. I have a free line from before that has a number already. After it's ported to Google Voice, I will port it back to my T-Mobile account. That's the only way to get it to take place of a free line.
You don't have to port it out according to TForce. It's just an internal number transfer between groups. Either you can cancel the line in other group or request a new number to keep the line, then apply the number into your group

There is add two line get a third line free promo, so the first 3 lines including the free line can stack with any phone promo deals, you can add 4th line, It will be free mostly but It won't stack with many phone promo deals

Reading a recent Reddit thread, you can somehow use a spare line and your current line on the same iPhone 12 and use data on the free line? Anyone have any ideas on this? Is it a hassle in some way?

All I can say is - we've been with T-Mobile for 5 years- and they were GREAT until about 6 months ago. Now the CSRs will misinform you, and sign you up for a line, when your plan doesn't allow it. When you start getting billed for the line, and whatever other charges T-Mobile adds, they will promise you credits, then not always issue them. You'll get their "personal guarantee" (which has no legal meaning), after you finally finish the call. I've spent an hour and 10 minutes on hold waiting for a human to answer (and a bunch of somewhat shorter hold times), then more than an hour trying to get a resolution for a problem. My longest time on the phone with them has been 2hours, 44 minutes, and the shortest was 27 minutes. I've spent about 10 hours total adding the line, then trying to fix the damage they caused, in about 10 phone calls. It seems that since the Sprint merger went through, their word doesn't mean much, and the answers their "EXPERTS" provide aren't worth much. Honestly, I don't know whether Verizon or AT&T are better at this point, but I doubt they could be worse.

How can your bill be 40 dollar for 3 lines of T-Mobile one plan?

It's Definitely a lot to consider. No glitch with kickback. They always subtract kickback first from the original plan cost. Then from that total they multiple the 20% discount and subtract that. You might want to look into your bill again. You may need a credit for the $2 difference for all the missed months.

I have an iPhone 11. You can set it and forget it. It's pretty easy to do. You won't have to worry about it switching if you don't set it up that way. There is an option that you can select if you want it to switch - "Allow cellular data switching." Even if you have this on, you don't have to worry about it eating through you data. It's only on for those rear instances where the free line might not be connecting. I have this on and have never run into any issues.

I am not sure about 5G. I have another free line that is in a 5G phone and the speeds so far are not anything great when compared to LTE for me. But, everyone's location and speeds vary.
I spoke incorrectly about the kickbacks. What they do is take the 20% hook up discount after they apply the kickback discounts. It essentially ends up looking like $8 kickbacks on the bill but it's actually 20% hookup calculated after the kickback discounts. Now I remember that I googled about it and found a few reddit posts about it, T-Mobile changed the order they apply the discounts to benefit them.

In my case if I get kickback on one line my bill ends up being $72 instead of $80...

$100 - $10 kickback = $90 - 20% hookup = $72.

T-mobile is truly the best, is have 2 laid lines on One plan. Every time I call, I qualify for a free line. I have a total of 5 now. Best telecom carrier, hands down. Doesn't make sense to be with gouges like ATT or Verizon
